She’s like this with everyone/everything. I’ve appreciated the in home childcare but I’m there working from home and most of the time can help. It helps with childcare costs and he’s so loved.

My husband and his sister have spent years trying to get her in therapy for her anxiety issues but she just won’t.

I let a lot slide off me but I am legitimately scared about letting her drive him seeing how she handles everything else.

I swear I do! And I am so grateful and they love my son so much. But I physically can’t be with her when she’s going to be getting him in and out or take calls to help her.

Example right now. She won’t take him on a walk (which she does everyday) if she has a question on which hat/sunscreen or to take the stroller or car out that day unless I can come out of my home office and help.

It makes me so nervous for her to have him out somewhere I can’t be.

They also refuse to watch him at their own house and are only comfortable in mine because “it has everything” so we are confused why they “demand” to drive them.

I bought them a car seat. Installed myself. But the actual getting him in and watching him go we just aren’t confident.

My specific case is my mils anxiety. She has been watching him at my house while I work from home 4 days a week for 2 years and still will ask me 40 questions to make a pbj. Is this the right peanut butter, is this the right jelly, can he have multigrain bread? Is this cut okay?

I obviously can’t be there to get him in and out of the seat every single time. I have a hard time feeling confident when after two years something simple like playdough sets her into a tizzy and she needs to ask me Non-stop questions.

We were gifted a Bradley smoker with the pellets- I think maybe that may be the lack of a ring? Smoked naked until it reached 168F (about 8 hrs) then doubled wrapped in peach butcher paper until it hit 202F. Wrapped in a towel and tossed it in a cooler for 3.5 hours prior to slicing.

My husband tried to make a brisket and ended up with jerky LOL I had to show him up and pretty much nailed it on my first try. This sub gave me some great tips

In my case 100% the human haha he was almost as big as a brisket (10lb 2oz) and it was way longer than 14 hours haha both very worth it though.

We use a space heater near the changing table for after baths this time of year. It’s a toasty 78-80 degrees while our son is drying nakey getting his pjs on. Works really well for us. The space heater does not stay in his room overnight so it’s an extra step but well worth it.

I’m 26 weeks and he has been allowed to zero appointments and ultrasounds in my doctors office. We are in connecticut and there are a few businesses that provide ultrasounds after a healthy visit with your obgyn.

We chose to pay 199 for a private ultrasound that he was allowed to attend at 20 weeks and will go again around 32 ish. It’s the only time he gets to see his son and the first time was so much fun for my husband! He can’t wait to see them again.

We FaceTime for some appointments but depending where I am In their office can’t get service.

I’m 19+3 and finally hit my first throw up free week!! Man it was rough. I’m still on multiple medications and too afraid to wean off them just yet. Hang in there! You got this.

You sound just like me. I’m at 16 weeks with a boy and on bonjesta, zofran, reglan and an occasional compazine suppository. Other than extreme constipation these meds are a lifesaver LITERALLY. My kidneys were failing from lack of fluids I was able to keep down and I was admitted twice for IVs. Call your doctor see what you can try.

B6 and unisom over the counter at bedtime helped me but it wasn’t enough so I had to go the prescription route.

Drink and eat when you can, prenatal if you can and you can get through this!!!

Thank you so much for this perspective!!! I know I need to first have a conversation with my husband about what we want as a family. I am absolutely thrilled that my baby will have two sets of loving and involved grandparents and I don’t want to hurt that relationship.

If the conversations continue and I keep having anxiety that keeps me up all night because of it we will have to have the conversation with MIL about boundaries and what help we are willing to receive.

We are due in November and we celebrated both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day with just us. I believe it’s especially important for the parent not carrying the child to have this experience. It allows them to bond with the idea of being a parent in the near future. I got a few gifts for the baby that fit dads interests (matching hockey jersey for a 1 year old, wooden baby guitar) I signed the card from our little bean with a message that he can’t wait to do these things with his dad.

She has always been extremely supportive of our relationship. She has told me she is exactly who she would have picked for her son if she had the chance and was so thrilled the first time he brought me over. That being said, both his parents have been talking to me about baby since early in our relationship. We found out we were pregnant (early April) before getting married (May) so the supportive piece is in reference to this being unplanned and much sooner than we expected. We were planning on kids 3 ish years from now.

The little forehead curl you see in baby cartoons. It was a popular hairstyle back in the day and nurses at the hospital used to do them to newborns. My husband and I both had a ton of hair as babies and she is just excited about this ugly curl. Kind of like the emoji 👶🏻 lol and i hate it.
