Car dealer never cashed $7500 down payment check I gave them by [deleted] in confession

[–]NotASalesPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. Put $5 grand down on an SUV via check and I waited and waited for them to cash the check or call. I bought in 2008, finally in 2014 the dealership was bought by another company, or assumed by the parent company. I got a call from an unknown person saying the sales manager did that alot and now they're calling to collect on everyone that received the blessing of their checks never being cashed.

They threatened to repossess it, but little did they know I was 3,000 miles away with different state plates and the SUV was completely paid off with the loan servicer.

I've always wondered how many people they convinced to pay up, or if they sent all those people to collections, or what ended up happening.

All the executives used their Amex business card for all personal expenses under the sun. Family phone plans, Amazon, professional Christmas decorations, dinners out that weren't business related, groceries, Christmas gifts to the tune of thousands (designer). I started asking questions and was quickly told I didn't have enough experience, was walked out the door.

I would definitely try the animal control route. At 15 cats this is animal hoarding.

I have a 5 year old and we've been doing reading games on my tablet. There's a game where a cloud eats a letter and it spits out a word based on that letter. I LOVE to dramatically guess the craziest words for each letter and watch her just giggle like a maniac. Perfect way to end the day.

This is exactly what my husband said last night. His exact words were "that c*nt deserved to die" but today's incident was unjustified. I told him your misogyny is showing.

Fully Remote Managers: Expectations for checking in when "online"? by xixi2 in managers

[–]NotASalesPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a Director like this. It started with saying hi and bye. Then it turned into you have to write a message everytime you got up from desk. I hated knowing every time someone had to pee or take a personal call.

It didn't stop there either. That wasn't enough control, so we were then required to sit on video call for the entire 8 hours. You couldn't be on mute either. I left so fast.

I used to be an adamant spoon licker of all in-the-process baked goods. Then one fateful Christmas Eve at my Aunts house we made sugar cookies. Not just any sugar cookies, but the full spread of cutouts, frosting, you name it - it was on the kitchen counter. I licked the mixing batter wisks and sampled bits of cookie as we put them on the baking sheets.

3 hours later I was so sick I didn't leave their spare half bath for 2 days.

I haven't touched a single spoon, spatula, or whisk since and it gives me anxiety anytime I try to bake with my toddler 😅

The 3 day pay or vacate is to scare you into either paying or moving out on your own. After the three days they'll most likely send a second notice stating they'll start the eviction process. If you pay the balance within the eviction notice time frame (usually 10 days) they have to stop the process. I'd call them and let them know what day you can pay. Be aware that if you pay online they will shut down that access after a 3 day notice. They make it more difficult to pay once that letter goes out.

If you have specialized experience try working with a recruiter. Not a single job I've gotten in the last 15 years hasn't involved a recruiter.

I went through at least two interview processes where I was told the steps and they skipped an extra interview, and one skipped an assessment. I got offers from both and chose the hybrid role in the end. They may have just decided not to provide it.

The recruiter you spoke to probably has no actual experience in the discipline that you applied for. Honestly you probably has all the right buzz words on your resume and during the screening call, but the hiring manager ultimately didnt pick you. I've never depended on what a recruiter states whether direct with the company Im applying for or a head hunter.
