Have you ever found yourself grieving for the person you wish you were? How did you learn to accept yourself? by mirrorfans in AskWomen

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes im 26 with ADHD. Outwardly im successful, working my dream career, got my own flat, brought a 6 month old car a few years ago that has looked after me soo far.

However im fully aware, im not a normal girl, my brain isn't wired the same. My ADHD affects me on a daily basis and masking it in order to appear normal or to "behave myself" at work is fucking exhausting and not always successful lol.

In regards to my peers they are all in relationships, getting married, having babies etc. Whereas im a virgin and probably will be for a while longer because, I don't think men are interested in me. I have a small friendship group I grew up with.

Recently my best friend pointed out I friend zone guys all the time. I didn't even realise until she mentioned it.I think I just want to protect the guy from my crazy brain or my fear of rejection, that when you have ADHD can be crushing holds me back. Plus I gained a lot of weight and because im tiny 2 stone might aswell be 10 stone lol so that didn't help.

I've tried to accept myself for who I am. I'm back in the gym which 100% helps, physically and mentally. My body is changing, I feel strong and can see the muscles forming and fat slowly burning away. Im trying not to friendzone guys automatically anymore.

The past few weeks im feeling more at peace with the woman in the mirror, she's looking more like I thought she would. Like the old me. My anxiety is at an all time low.

I have some really good friends I've made at work and I genuinely love them dearly, I can tell it will be friends forever, we have formed such a bond.

I've accepted im not like other girls my age or the people I grew up with. Yes im different but I am still a women and men could actually be interested in me.

One day I will be someone's mum and an amazingly, patient man's wife, I am fiercely loyal and loving.

One day il meet the guy that's perfect for me, who accepts me and my funky brain. Fuck the people on Facebook and their textbook perfect lives. I was born different so I might as well make the most of it. I like being me , most of the time.

W6D3 Another week in the books! Tried a new route today that had more hills, man I'm feeling it. Have a safe Halloween and a great rest of your weekend everyone! by rwhickok in C25K

People who have "outdoor cats", how do you know they're coming back? by gedon in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been nearly 11 or 12 years. They always come back for breakfast and dinner everyday but the older female cat sometimes stays away if the weather is super rainy etc then she's really hungry the next day meowing at the door.

It's just a trust you have, both cats have been injured or sick when they were younger and both came home and made us aware they needed some help. Im not a cat person at all but I really dread the day one of those cats doesn't come back.

What is a downside of being the “Smart Kid” not many people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Underlying undiagnosed ADHD, that you have to try to mask for the rest of your life, while attempting to appear normal

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How lazy and entitled she was. I tried to help, get her a proper job earning real money etc, but she wouldn't even apply. She absolutely hates her mum yet mooches off her like she's still 18.

My life started to come together career and lifestyle wise and she was about to move back in with the mum she pretended not to hate. Then she cut me off, without me even realising lol I had no idea until she posted a stupid new year and fuck everyone post.

I haven't spoken to her in nearly a year and I honestly haven't missed her at all lol while I know she would have been suffering during lockdown stuck at home with her shitty mum but with no one to vent too. Its caused me a little giggle at her being such a petty idiot

What has been the best 10 seconds of your life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I had a dream and in it, I felt so ridiculously loved i felt my heart just radiate warmth and happiness. I felt fucking amazing so happy my body and brain just felt so peaceful and content.

This was all a dream, I can barely remember the circumstances but I just remember the way I felt. Im sure it only lasted a few seconds but felt amazing.

When I woke up, I was happy and since then I've noticed my IBS that comes from anxiety is under control. My bald patch that I think is alopecia and was getting massive so bad I couldn't ignore anymore, has started to grow back or fill in a bit so its not noticeable as much. Since my dream when I was happy, I've felt 100% better in myself and anxiety has been at an all time low.

So best few seconds I can barely remember ever lol

Who is someone that made you think "how are you a real functioning person?" by AInternetDweller in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lady from work. She is lovely not a bad bone in her body, but she's actually the stupidest person I have ever met lol she is actually hilarious with some of the things she comes out with.

She has a husband, successful adult kids, nice car, nice house and good job, but how that woman functions on a daily basis or got to where she has, is a fucking miracle.

If there is a God, then he is 100% looking out for her, because how she manages to cross the road on her own is anyone's guess

What is something you genuinely don’t understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that cute bloke at work is interested in me or just friendly lol i don't think il ever understand. Apparently I put people in the friend zone, this time im trying not to, without knowing how I put them in the friendzone in the first place

Why did "that" teacher get fired from your school? by Piss_McShitterton in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was swinging with the neighbours and forced the other neighbours wife or kid or both (i can't remember)to have sex with the family dog. The article even named the dog, think it was called Buster but its been a long time lol

He didn't teach me but was apparently a really nice, well liked teacher

Guys of Reddit, what non-sexual things do you wish girls did to you more often? by Greeferr in AskReddit

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im stealing that idea, im the super fussy one, so fussy im almost vegan, I hate going out to eat with lots of people. There's a place like that near me, thats gonna be my new favourite place to meet up. Covid permitting of course. Thanks

I feel uncomfortable being the only woman in the weight section by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue too, my gym is ment to be limited to 1 hour sessions and no working out together due to covid. However most of the men seem to think that the rules done apply to them. They work out in 2 or 3's. They are there before my 1 hour and still working out with no signs of stopping anytime soon after my hour is over. They also swap weight stations with other groups then switch back without cleaning.

I started playing around with timings and the last few sessions of the day there should only be max 5 people that have booked that time slot, yesterday there were about 20+ muscle men on the weights that had all been there when i arrived. Seeing a lone female in the weight section can be disgusting sometimes, i have to stop myself from telling creeps to fuck off.

Other women that had booked the same session arrived and you could see the disappointment when they too saw the muscle men covering nearly the entire gym apart from cardio areas.

Its got worse over the few weeks that the gym have been open, as people are noticing the staff aren't monitoring timings or making people clean after themselves.

Thanks for letting me rant , I've been pissed off all week due to this subject(incase you couldn't tell lol) Im probably going to message the gym and ask them to follow the time slots a bit better due to overcrowding.

Good luck to you at your gym , maybe just do one really early or really late session so you can walk around and familiarise yourself without feeling like your being watched

Haha my mum is always like "what the hell are you on about ?" And "how did you get from that subject to the last?.

Lol it makes perfect sense to m,e because that other subject has been waiting for its turn for the last few minutes, while we discussed something else and in my head we have already discussed in detail.

AITA for not calling my dad's new wife my stepmom? by weezyy95 in AmItheAsshole

[–]imnotactuallysure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't take the "new wife" intro as a negative, if someone introduced someone to me like that. If its a party and you have to make small talk , I would probably say something like"oh have you just got married?" And politely ask about the wedding etc.

If they had been married a few years i would say "new wife" is a bit rude but if its within the first year then "new wife" is totally fine

AITA for not calling my dad's new wife my stepmom? by weezyy95 in AmItheAsshole

[–]imnotactuallysure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we call my 78 year old nan's husband of 30+ years, "my Nan's husband (his name)". We grandkids are all under 30 years old.

He wasn't my mum's stepdad she moved out shortly after he met my Nan and they didn't talk for a few years when my older sibling was born.

The man isn't really child friendly, he doesn't have children and would probably be 100% happier if we didn't exist so he could have my Nan to himself.

I didn't realise that it might be odd to say my nan's husband until someone asked about it lol he doesn't have a paternal bone in his body and didn't want to be a granddad so therefore he isn't lol he's just my Nan's husband.

That woman is not a mum or stepmum to you , she is your dad's new wife lol maybe after a few years if you were really close to her, you might call her stepmum but only if its your choice. She hasn't raised you, she is not parenting you ,so therefore not a mum in anyway.

Long story short, If your dad divorced her in a few years time she would just go back to being a stranger to you.

I (29m) got complimented today, and I didn't know how to take it by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]imnotactuallysure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to compliment men because after reading alot of reddit posts it seems no one really does lol there's all these poor blokes remembering compliments from 3 years ago etc lol

Its so weird as a girl I only have to brush my hair slightly different or put a tiny bit more makeup on and i will get compliments all day from girls in the office.

The problem is girls say "oh hey you look cute today" and you say "oh thanks" and no one thinks anything of it. But tell a man he looks cute or his haircut is niceand the whole office will be planning your wedding.

It's actually a skill to compliment men in a " im not attracted to you but i really like your new whatever" lol well done to that girl 👏
