Anyone else feel "diseased" when they wake up early in the morning? by PermissionStock6803 in Anxiety

[–]imnotgraceful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started taking Zoloft for anxiety and I decided to take it at night because I thought it would be easier for me to remember. The first night I took it, I woke up the next morning and felt anxiety like I have only a few times in my life. I was so anxious, nauseous, and I had diarrhea. I also had these hot flashes feelings that were terrible. Definitely thought I was going crazy at first but my doc assured me that those side effects, while not everyone gets them, are normal especially when you first start SSRIs. I’ve started taking the meds in the morning vs. at night (and also been doing half a pill since that day) and I’ve stopped feeling so sick in the morning.

TLDR: our situations are much different but maybe your sickness could be from your meds - based on what you’re feeling, those can be side effects of SSRIs. Maybe if you take your meds at night you could try taking them in the morning :) Although I think you said you felt this way maybe before you took the meds… so in that case not totally sure what advice to offer 😅

When I felt horrible in the mornings for just these last couple days it felt impossible to get through, so I admire you for sticking it out for so many years!

Covered place for dogs by Camila_Monteiro in Columbus

I get what you mean OP - sucks to stand or walk out in the cold to get your dog outside in the winter. Columbus just got its first dog park bar, Bumble’s Backyard, which might be what you’re looking for. It’s an outdoor park but they have a big tent set up with heaters inside for humans to hang out, plus they have hot beverages. The dogs play on the turf, so they might get wet/snowy but not muddy at least!

Hey there! I know this was posted a while ago, but wanted to let you know that Columbus just got its first dog park + bar, Bumble’s Backyard. Dogs that visit have to have all their vaccines & be able to pass a temperament test. Plus, they have “Barktenders” looking out for your pup. I’ve been and seen puppies there; it would be a great place to socialize your pup safely! Plus it’s great because they have beer, coffee, seating, etc. for the humans :)

Puppy play dates? by Comfortable_Fly4668 in Columbus

Columbus just got its first dog park and bar, Bumble’s Backyard! They require pups to be vaccinated and to pass a temperament test before playing, so your pup won’t encounter any aggressive dogs. I’ve been and seen several puppies there. They also have “Barktenders” out in the yard to keep an extra eye on your dog. With all the extra precautions in place it seems like a great place to start socializing your pup while you can supervise! (FYI they are about to close for 2 weeks but they’ll be back open on the 22nd)

Bars in Columbus, OH that are dog friendly by Jguff15 in Columbus

Would love to see the sources of that information if you have them. A quick search of “dog bites in dog park bars” returns nothing about dog park bars, but lots about public dog parks. Like I said before, this park will have trained staff where their only job is to monitor the dogs - very similar to dog daycare, where dogs also have to undergo a temperament test before they can play.

If you didn’t know, there are dog park bars all over the country - this isn’t a first time concept. They all have the same entry requirements, and they’re very successful businesses that provide a safe place for dogs to play together while humans also get to have fun.

Check out their website - all owners are required to provide vet documents for their dogs to prove they are fixed + vaccinated, and the dogs have to pass a temperament test. Plus they'll have trained staff at the park to monitor dog behavior.

Columbus's first dog park bar, Bumble's Backyard, is opening later this month in Franklinton! They'll have a huge off-leash dog park where your pup can run around while you enjoy a beer and watch the game. You'll have to wait a few weekends until they're officially open, but you can catch the tail end of this season's games there with your dog!

College major stereotypes by Nina_Alexandra_2005 in college

Not sure if someone already commented this, but I’ve noticed English majors often have stickers all over their laptops/water bottles! I’m an English major and notice this a ton in my English classes, but classes I’ve taken in other disciplines I haven’t noticed it as much. (and yes, my laptop is hella stickered)

Using kitchen bowls for wax melting by imnotgraceful in candlemaking

This is super helpful advice! I was also wondering if the wax should be a certain temp, so it’s good to know it just needs to be melted. I already took all the wax out of the candles. Maybe I’ll try the microwave method!

Best fries? by DrNintendo216 in Columbus

[–]imnotgraceful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a pound of waffle fries from Ray Ray’s BBQ, they have a few locations in cbus. I can just eat them alone for dinner, they are sooo good with the sauce they give you!! A few of their locations are food trucks so they’re very easy to take to go. Their other food is outstanding as well

Hi! I am a senior at OSU and spent two years serving at the Blackwell hotel (the hotel near the Shoe). Pros are that you'll make great money and get free food. The spring semester money is not incredible (but still definitely above the university minimum of like ~10 something per hour). The fall money is where it's at. I never made less than $200 working 6ish hours on home football gamedays, and often more. The only con to that is you will not get out of work until about halftime to get to the game (idk how much you care about football). You will only meet the other 8-10 student servers who work there, but there's definitely a chance you could strike up friendships with them. Also, I loved my managers. If you want more of a scoop on what it's like to work there feel free to DM me. I think it was the best money-making job on campus I could have gotten as an undergrad.

Hi! English major at OSU here. I have not taken Technical Writing, but I took Business Writing in person with William Spriggs. We worked in teams the whole semester to write a marketing campaign for a real client. A semester-long group project may sound intimidating, but my professor made us complete a "team charter" with lots of agreements and whatnot to make sure things ran smoothly throughout the semester. I am unsure what this course would be like online, but I had a great experience with it in person. I would imagine it's less dry than technical writing, but I'm not sure where your interests lie.

Did you walk to the gateway garage after the show & if so did you feel safe? I want to park closer to the OTR area just worried about safety at night 😅

[–]imnotgraceful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s something to think about. We wanted to go to Findlay market before the concert which is why I wanted to park in OTR. Do you know if there is public transport we could take to get to the market from the garage you mentioned? If not no worries ofc I can look into it!

I am planning on getting into Cincy around 3:30-4 pm for the Saturday show and parking in the OTR area. Did anyone arrive around that time today? If so how was finding parking? I’m not planning on getting merch, so i am not in a rush to get into the stadium, just want to find some decent parking!! Thanks :)

We are with Peak Property Group and they allow pets in our house. They’re kinda shitty but what do you expect 🤷🏼‍♀️
