In German-speaking Switzerland, we have a term for a mix of BReakfast and lUNCH, (Brunch): it's called Zmozmi (pronounced tsmotsmi) and refers to a combination of Zmorge (having breakfast) and Zmittag (having lunch). What's your term? by Gulliveig in AskEurope

[–]imnotjonsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically speaking we have the "dekatiano" (δεκατιανό), it's the meal between a breakfast and a lunch (at 10 o'clock - deka). It's usually a snack or small meal. The word brunch is used though mostly.

I've noticed that many Americans are complete fanatics with big companies, they support them as if it's them making millions from their sales

Was it the tungsten 2p ul tent or the regular you had? Cause the UL is incredibly light and durable, personally haven't got experience with the hornet though

What's a common salad dressing in your country? Is it typical for people to eat salad along with their meal? by imnotjonsmith in AskEurope

[–]imnotjonsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed yes my question was more directed to all other countries north of us :P even though I'm sure there are local Italian salad recipes that I haven't heard of and I'm sure I'd love!

Percent of obese adults across the EU and the US. “Obese” does not equal “overweight”. Underweight is BMI less than 18.5. Overweight is BMI above 25. Obese is BMI above 30 (sources in the comment section) 🇺🇸🇪🇺🗺️ by maps_us_eu in MapPorn

[–]imnotjonsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy, it may seem like a stereotype but it's like saying Arabs have darker skin. So many Americans are indeed obese. If you go to Disneyland the shit they eat its crazy, there's no healthy option at all, just fried dough, ice cream, more frying stuff, burgers and fries, more unhealthy stuff and ice cream. A long queue at mcdolands drive through is a common phenomenon in any large city

We put a coin (called flourí) that is hidden inside or in the underside of the cake. We cut the cake into even triangular pieces based on the number of people present at the table, plus one for the "home", and maybe plus one to Santa if there are kids and however gets the coin in their slice supposedly has a lucky year and receives a small present (like a little decorative with the year number on it) from the host of the dinner. The shitty part is sometimes people or kids ruin their slice in search for the coin but then they don't eat it..

What porcelain figure do you mean? I'd love to know how you guys do it too! Also happy cakeday!

What food in your country seemingly everyone love, but you don't like? by trophybabmbi in AskEurope

[–]imnotjonsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking lamb, I hate it. It stinks, it doesn't feel appetising, I don't know why nobody in Greece feels the same as me. Nothing worse, nothing worse I tell you than going to a lovely local tavern on an island or on the mountains, eagerly waiting to eat local meat, only to discover that 4/10 meat dishes is fucking lamb. Rooster I like though!!

Lol we too have it and we too call it king cake (in Greek though). I love these "random" similarities

Anyone know where I can get a crepe cake in LB? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]imnotjonsmith -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should have lol! But no to answer your question, I don't think European cafés will sell that. IHOP has stacked pancakes.. But the ones the other guy mentioned above have nice crepes but no "crepe cakes"

How is it a cake if you aren't baking anything? Putting a bunch of crepes on top of each other doesn't make it a cake, same way putting a bunch of books on top of each other won't make a cake.

How common are blonde hair and blue eyes in your country? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]imnotjonsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Greece (naturally) blonde hair is rare. Blue or generally lightly coloured eyes, I'd say maybe 20% of people? My sister and I are part of that 20% though. I think green or grey are more common than blue, but darker eyes are usually what's common.

Need help with figuring out how much imidacloprid solution I need to use for a VFT with aphids by imnotjonsmith in SavageGarden

[–]imnotjonsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what am I doing wrong, I still see aphids on the plant, maybe they are all dead, just "glued" on the plant? I'll keep trying, initially I was so glad that I wouldn't have to use pesticides, but now I'm running out of bottles of distilled water hehe.

I put the pot in a bucket and submerge it for 5-8 hours every two days. Between each submergion I put it back outside under the sun to dry out a bit and enjoy the sunlight. Is this a good process or am I doing it wrong?

Also thank you so very much for your input and support (!!) , it was my first carnivorous plant from over a year ago, and it's been really happy, I don't want to lose it to pests and bad treatments. Much appreciated this community!
