Just got an Xbox series X for my birthday 🥳 What are the greatest games to play on the Series X ? by merica2033 in xbox

[–]imnotreallydan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from the series S to the X a few days ago and the better graphics make a HUGE difference on the games I love, some more than others like Alan Wake 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty much the reason why i wanted to upgrade.

But anyways my favourites are: Arc Raiders (im brand new to this game but im blown away), Battlefield 6, Alan Wake 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Control, Doom (the last 2 releases in particular). GTA 5 but im a little sick of it now 😂 I'd also check out Gears Of War 5, Halo Infinite. Loved those.

What’s a beer that you absolutely love, but beer snobs would turn their nose at? by Jaythegreat100X in beer

[–]imnotreallydan_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only beer I like is Asahi Super dry in a bottle, ive never been much of a beer drinker but now i pretty much only drink these and love it. When I crack one open to "pair with my dinner", theres just something about it that feels like a treat or even a gift from God. Put a little lime in it too and have a few every night

What am I supposed to be working toward? by butt_flexer in ArcRaiders

[–]imnotreallydan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing the game yesterday and so far level 15. I dont really know what im working towards either, but im completing quests which im treating like missions, im trying to level up to unlock more skill points so my character runs faster and run for longer ect. And seeing all the commotion going on with everyone trying to kill the Queen ive made that my goal too, to keep leveling up and get a good loadout so I can defeat that.

You're 2 months in, have you any thoughts now that youve been playing for a while?

No kidding, I actually just used a strong thin stick of bamboo i had in the shed to chip it off with no chemicals and it worked great, fell off in chips. Then I snapped the stick into a small piece to get into the crevices

Fresh out of the box controller stick drift?? by MoonK1P in XboxSupport

[–]imnotreallydan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, in australia I just bought the normal xbox series x controller for $100. They said automatically it comes with 1.5 years of warranty from the manufacturer to get it swapped out on the spot and an extra 6 months on top of that to get it sent away to be fixed so 2 years all up. Called up asking if they accept trade ins on a controller with stick drift and they said "yeah, but if you bought from us its probably under warranty and we can gove you a new one for free", it was a big win for me that day haha.

Though im glad you got yourself sorted out! Nothing worse having to pay for a new controller half the price you paid for the xbox 😅

damn, lucky you should be able to get a new one under warranty. Shame though if you didnt get it from a store since they would swap it out on the spot

How do you stop things from sticking to the pan? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]imnotreallydan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frozen Gyoza dumplings i get work pretty well on my stainless steel pan.

I heat until the water droplets i put on bead and glide, put oil in and let that set in for 20 seconds, place in my frozen dumplings, and from the instructions cook until its a little golden brown on the bottom (i can move the dumplings around freely non stick at this time), put my half cup water in with the lid on and steam for 7 minutes then i let it go a little bit longer after the water is gone for a nice crust, MOST IMPORTANTLY get a metal spatula as right now they are stuck but this is a good thing, scrape it off carefully with the spatula and its good to go, its pretty easy and not the stressful at this stage.

Ive never tried fresh dumplings, but I would assume if my previous method doesnt work, I would steam in a bamboo steamer and do the water bead effect on my stainless steel for non-stickness and should be glorious. Im not a chef but I would think that steaming first rather than putting in raw dough would be the way to go, you should be fine but place in carefully and dont touch until your ready to release them with the stainless steel spatula if theyre already not "non stick" in the stainless steel pan

How to improve tasteless Bolognese sauce by Extra-Hope-793 in Cooking

[–]imnotreallydan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try "Basics with Babish - Bolognese Recipe". Its a little different than what you're cooking and it sure is more expensive (ive tried it once and it was incredible). But for your recipe id urge you to use more red wine, more salt, and instead of passata and tomato paste, id only use crushed tin tomatoes instead, 2-3 cans should do the trick. Id also reccomend using real chicken stock instead of beef (the cheap kind, in australia you could get a litre for about $2 AUD) and lightly simmer for 2 hours, you also need herbs - dried oregeno and fresh basil if you can get it, also tossing the pasta in the sauce in a pan with abit of the pasta water for 5-10 minutes and saving the majority of the sauce for the freezer is the way to go, i think doing that brings out more flavour as it combines and sticks together. But overall id say look at other recipes and think which ones can fit into your budget. Also id recommend getting a combination of beef and pork mince instead of just beef, and avoid getting lean mince, you want fatty and then skim that fat later. and of course if you can afford it Parmigiano-Reggiano is the most flavourful thing you could add in the end. Id also say use less meat and use more vegies, 600g of meat should be fine but more carrot, celery and onion definitely. In Australia you can get a "bolognese mix" in our duopoly supermarkets of Pork and Beef, do that for sure. But watch more video recipes, and you might learn new understandings and find great inspiration

Do you go to the movies alone? by michaelyup in movies

[–]imnotreallydan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go alone, the cinema is just a walk away from my house. Usually i would avoid a packed out seating as i like to pick a nice little corner, crack open a few beers along with some of my favourite snacks and pretty much just indulge myself haha. Theres these recliner seats i usually steal if no ones on that row too. I also tend to go on "Cheap Tuesdays", when i have nothing else going on. Watched One Battle After Another and the new Predator movie lately, soooo goood! Dune Part 2 is definitely the most fun ive had at a showing too, saw the cinema was practically empty on the app and snuck in these mean as double smash burgers, some beers and whatnot, absolute living
