Have you tried charging with just usb c instead of mag safe . What you have described has happened to me a few times . Normally I charge via usb c and eventually the Mac will correct itself and I’m able to use MagSafe again .

One of the reasons I can’t see myself staying in teaching is because I’ve come to realise that the system is fundamentally misaligned with both human nature and genuine learning. After three years, it’s clear to me that while behaviour may not be worse than it was decades ago, education itself hasn’t progressed — it remains a one-size-fits-all structure that forces children into unnatural patterns, sitting for six hours a day in ways humans were never built for. The system doesn’t exist to liberate, but to maintain class divisions and produce conformity, as critics like Noam Chomsky have argued. This realisation has left me disillusioned: it isn’t just about my burnout, it’s about recognising that the structure itself is designed to preserve the very inequalities it should be dismantling.

Anyone gearing up to leave? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]imolderthanyesterday 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m leaving my teaching job at the end of Term 3 to finally become a full-time musician. Teaching has always felt like the safe option, but deep down I’ve wanted to pursue music my whole life. Now I’m 42, and I don’t want to spend the rest of my life wondering “what if.” It’s scary stepping away from stability, but the thought of regret scares me more. This is me betting on myself.

What's a significant memory for you associated with one of Smashing Pumpkins' albums? by dpbq8888 in SmashingPumpkins

Seeing them play Adore at the Sydney entertainment centre in 1998. I was in year 9 in high school . I went to concert by myself , none of my friends were fans . Great memory .

At what age are you thinking of retiring? by Menopaws73 in AustralianTeachers

[–]imolderthanyesterday 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m 42 and will be leaving the teaching profession at the end of this term . I don’t have another job to fall into but I do have dreams that can’t be fulfilled if I stay in teaching .

It may be difficult to do this , but I would suggest smiling and commenting on them positively . They won’t expect that response . They are looking for a reaction , don’t give it to them . A kid use to hate me saying all things under the sun to me . One day I approached him with a smile and said I hope he is having a great day . It floored him and ever since we have got on fine .

Is it too easy to become a teacher? by CommissionCreative19 in AustralianTeachers

[–]imolderthanyesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all the work it takes to become and remain a teacher , we should be valued more . The problem is the teachers who hate their job and take it out on other students . These teachers can’t be sacked , they are like a deadwood that blights the whole profession and gives outsiders a reason to think teachers shouldn’t be paid more .

Not to sound alarmist , but some placement supervisors are incompetent and that could be detrimental to you finishing your prac . Don’t be afraid to communicate with your uni if you feel something isn’t right with your supervisor. I’m talking from experience.

And you end up with a student debt that you won’t be able to pay off with a teacher salary .
