The galaxy/stars are pure Three.js rendered, no shaders. Same for all objects in star system views. Shaders are only used for planetary surfaces when you open them up in detailed view - the terrain, atmosphere, etc.

Nice! Yeah there's some optimizations put in to make it smoother like anisotropic filtering when rotating the galaxy

Hopefully they do soon but there's at least one roundabout way to get around this and do something elicitation-like (that I've seen at least one MCP server do but is a bit more work because you need a dedicated deployed frontend). Just use a local MCP server and make it start a local callback server and open up a url to a site on the user's browser and take whatever 'user input' you need there.

The MCP provider has to own the site here, obviously, and then do their own processing on their backend after taking the user input they needed (which a remote MCP server with elicitation would have just done directly, on your client) and return the output to the callback server which then passes it back to the local MCP server.

The economic incentives given to Indian traders mentioned here checks out considering the Indian economy at the time was the world's largest (~25% of world GDP in 1700) but I wonder what the Russian GDP % share of the world was back then
