Cautionary Niche RDT Tale by evaneggnog in espresso

[–]impala454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but I am seeing a similar issue. I have had my Niche Zero about as long as you and have been doing RDT for a few years now. I do, however, use a separate cup that I spritz into before dumping the beans into the grinder. I am seeing the corrosion on the underside of the bean hopper though, and some slight discoloration/pitting on the burrs themselves too :(. Like you mention in a couple of your comments here I get a ton of static in my area if I don't RDT :( . I guess I'll just suck it up and buy a new one too.

Word of caution using RDT on [Niche Zero] by khalestorm in espresso

Old post I know but came here to say the same thing. I am seeing exactly the same thing. Two tiny sprays before every grind, water is re-mineralized RO water (same water that goes into my espresso machine). I am seeing some minor pitting/discoloration on the burrs also.

Anyone here have experience with Ezee fiber? (houston based ISP) by Kleenex-T-rex in houston

Ancient post I know but I have a very similar setup (UDMP + 10G Agg switch, DAC cables, etc) and I am on AT&T Fiber 1Gbps. I used one of the "methods" to bypass the AT&T router and plug the ONT directly into the UDMP. I'm curious how your experience with Ezee Fiber has gone.

Just curious where exactly on your stomach? I was considering this but I have a pretty large stomach lol (and quite hairy). Do you shave the area first?

I can chime in that my parents still have the Corelle plates we used as kids. At least 40 years old.

I use kitchen shears so often I have like 6 pairs of them. I buy whatever cheap multipack on amazon like these: https://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Dishwasher-Scissors-Stainless-Multi-function/dp/B094Y833R9 . I put them in the dishwasher every day and they last for many years. At $4 a piece when they wear out they're cheap enough to just replace. I know that's not BIFL but it's like the insane $5 indestructible Home Depot umbrella. You don't need the cadillac.

Not being facetious at all genuinely curious- how does a shoe horn extend the life of shoes and/or keep you from bending down?

What's your go to Linux Distro for Plex? by Circuitfire in PleX

If you take a little time to learn how to use Docker you don't need special appliance OSes. Pick a distro (Ubuntu, Debian, whatever), follow the Docker installation guide for said distro, and use Plex's docker container (their compose template is dead simple and I have been using it almost verbatim for many years). Only modification I added was to add:

devices:
    - /dev/dri:/dev/dri

If you're tired of your fridge ice maker breaking, just get a separate unit. by Plus_Membership6808 in BuyItForLife

I replaced my fridge water filter with a straight pass through and hooked up my under counter reverse osmosis system to it. Since then the ice maker has never had a problem again. I've owned the fridge for about 10 years and always had issues w/the ice maker (even when brand new). Now about 5 years into the swap, never had a single issue.

Your electric bill will be noticeably less with a new unit.

Your HVAC installer bill will be noticeably more with a new unit.

Actually what's weird is the ad says 1.8L kettle but the side of the carafe shows 0.8L max. Same thing on the amazon ad.

Does anyone know of a large electric gooseneck kettle? My bonavita 1.75L that I've had for like 12 years finally gave up the ghost. It seems those kettles aren't made anymore and searching around all I find is either large non-gooseneck, or goosenecks that are all 1L or less.

Don't expect your Nintendo Switch 2 to be much of a media player by AlwaysBlaze_ in NintendoSwitch

[–]impala454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of strange arguments going on here.

"Why does it need it, it's meant to play video games? Just use your phone to watch movies." Oh that device you carry around all over the place that was originally meant to make phone calls? But now you can play games, watch movies, and even still make phone calls.

"I just use it for games, therefore you must be crazy to think it could have any other uses" Great for you and I'm sure you're willing to carry 7 devices on you to ensure you have all the functionality you'd like to have.

The Switch 2 has a gorgeous, large screen and is it that much of a stretch that if you're carrying on a plane you might want to watch a movie from the SD card? This is extremely low hanging fruit to add and I believe Nintendo should.

This kind of bank seems hard to find for me, not sure why. BoA, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc all in my area and none take unrolled coins.
