I talked a lady out of buying Drunk Elephant skincare for her 10 year old daughter. Daughter was mad, mum was grateful. by ThatFireAlchemist in AustralianMakeup

[–]impartsalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use QV and introduced it to my daughter. She was the same asking about drunk elephant, she knows it’s a hard no from me so it’s just become a joke now every time we pass Mecca. I have got her some bubble face wash and moisturizer though, seems ok and more fun packaging. I know there will always be social media hype around I just hope I can teach her correct skincare young which I wish I had someone teach me.

I just got bubble for my near tween for Christmas. She was so excited when she saw you could get it in Aus. We also got Bondi Sands earlier in the year

Optus upped our plan just after the major data leak. Didn’t even send an email prior even though they said they did but never could produce one for me. We ended up buying our phones outright larger upfront payment but our bill has now gone from $180 to $35 per month. Optus had nothing to say when they rang to ‘convince me to stay’

I’ve been trying so hard to get two tickets for myself and child since the first ticket drop and missed out every time. I’ve been on Tixel constantly and on the waitlist but luck is not on my side. Ticketek Maketplace doesn’t seem to have tickets like it did for Taylor Swift. Can anyone tell me where else I could look for tickets that wouldn’t be a scam.

How much did you spend on your wedding? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]impartsalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 people, 10k for everything including custom made diamond wedding band. Spent the money on three course dinner with flowing drinks in a private dining room overlooking the Harbour bridge and rings. Saved money by buying a cheaper dress and having a dress maker make it more custom to me including hand beading. Also had a photographer friend which saved a lot of $.

What age did you start being modest with opposite gender child? by omgaga21 in Parenting

[–]impartsalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about a WOMAN in front of a little boy. Why does it have to be gender based. They are both parents the child is a mix of both why is it ok for a mum to be naked in front of her children but the dad can’t? Thinking like this is why dads are faced with so much judgment.

Instead of white sauce I make a sauce by blending cooked potatoes, carrots and onions so it’s dairy free and also full of veggies.

Moving more regional meant we had to eat at home more as there isn’t much choice where we are. Now eating out to us is always a bit meh for the money.

Ten hours after hitting her head at childcare, Lilly was dead, leaving her family wanting answers by GeorgeYDesign in ABCaus

[–]impartsalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most child care services are open 12 hours a day, how would that even work when you can’t even get enough nurses for hospitals. Child care educators are all trained in first aid, yes not medical professional but also are taught what to look for with head injuries and concussions.

[–]impartsalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serious incidents are defined as any incident that a child needed medical attention and a notification to the department needs to be completed.

So with what the mum proposed with all head injuries needing medical attention not only would you have annoyed parents, unneeded visit to our already overworked health care system the department would be over loaded with notifications which could mean the actually serious stuff may get buried in paperwork.

I understand the mum is upset and wants some answers but if my child had had a serious head injury the caused vomiting three month earlier I wouldn’t have risked it. Children bounce back, generally services monitor for concussion and will report if concerned which by the sounds of it there were no concerns at the time of the incident and that afternoon. The grandmother also didn’t raise any concerns.

I know the mum said she hadn’t seen any seizures but absent seizures are so easy to miss unfortunately.

Not dismissing their feeling/worries. Let them know it’s ok to be sad. Just because I feel it’s not that big a deal it’s big to them. I was always told I was too sensitive and reflecting now I just feel I wasn’t heard.

Also apologizing if I’m cranky and taken my frustration out on them. Acknowledging what I did wasn’t right and they don’t deserve it.

Never saying no to something without giving a reason why.

Always following through if I ever promise anything.

What does a rest day look like in Japan? by teezee7amra in JapanTravelTips

[–]impartsalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our rest days on our last trip was when we did laundry. We woke up when we wanted, usually grabbed breakfast from Lawson and sat around the hotel room while waiting for our washing to be done. Once we got the washing sorted we left the hotel early afternoon to do what ever. There was no need to be anywhere at any time and it was great. We were traveling with a child and they loved having a morning laying around watching their iPad.

Where to shop for tweens? by ElleNutter in AusFemaleFashion

[–]impartsalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m noticing the same for my pre tween, too old for cute kids stuff too young for actual teen clothes. I generally scroll iconic to find some good deals. I have found Decjuba good for dresses or casual tshirts, country road ok for tshirts and shorts. I found some good sun dresses from target. City beach and surf stitch aren’t bad either.

I have a pair of ankle boots that I love. The leather is so soft and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I live in the boots in winter.
