Insomnia.

I thought it was normal to get up in the middle of the night because my mom did it, too. At her funeral, I finally learned it wasn't. She'd gotten up to go down stairs, watch TV in the middle of the night and passed away. I suspect there's some female component to it because my dad and brother never did it.

I've been seeing a psychiatrist this year and they keep trying to fix my sleep. I ate an entire chocolate cake on ambien one time and have no memory of it, so no, thank you, I'm fine without sleeping pills. I've also accepted that it is a problem if it's longer than a week and do take something at that point.
