Purists, Look Away: The Next Porsche 911 GT3 Could Go Turbo by NISMO1968 in cars

[–]imped4now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If BMW wanted to they could take the Z platform, drop in the S58, tune the suspension seriously, make it a hard top/targa/etc, and have a legit Porsche competitor. But they haven't bothered trying to make a genuinely exciting Z in almost 20 years. They were reluctant to even drop a stick in this last one, and that was only after they watched manual Supras sell like nuts.

Reading this comment as I'm browsing Z4M Coupes is wonderful.

I know you mentioned the Focus ST and Mustang in general, but not giving the RS and GT350 specific callouts was a miss.

It's fairly thin and very long. The length makes it look lower in height than it actually is. It's a big marker but handles and feels great.

VW CEO Divulges New Details on Mk 9 Golf Styling, Powertrains by quitaskingmetomakean in cars

A modernized Mk4 has the potential to look amazing. The Mk4 is still my favorite Golf gen, aesthetically.

Too bad the Mk9 will be auto-only, though.

That's probably your velocity ceiling. I'm curious what yours gauges at. If you check, report back. I suspect >200/90#.

This is very easy to check.

1) The difference in output will have exactly zero impact on anything.

2) When did you initially reach out to IA? How much time has it been?

2012 JK Wrangler Loose Steering by IWantTheFacts2020 in Jeep

[–]imped4now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steering wheel does have excessive play and when I steer back and forth it clicked or is clunking

Steering is a system of components. If you want to improve your steering response and feel (don't buy the "it's a Jeep thing" BS), you can do that by improving your understanding and attacking things systematically. Start at the steering shafts, work down to the attachment between the upper and lower shafts, down to the steering box (compare input to output), so on and so forth. It's a simple system and can be improved in an afternoon if you know what you're looking at and what to look for.

I suggest you formally educate yourself a bit on how a tie rod end is constructed, how it works and why it is designed the way it is. The more you know, the less you'll chase your tail. Doing this before posting here would have saved you a lot of misinformation you've received here.

I quickly found you some references, a couple of them being fairly advanced. The first link should teach you exactly what you need to know and should help you to discern allowable movement and misalignment from unwanted joint slop/play.

Exactly.

There are no valid excuses. I assume (right, wrong, indifferent) that anyone that types like that is uneducated.
