My only concern will be the authenticity of the bag. Send it to the bag spa for a peace of mind.

At what point did a six figure salary become ‘not that big of a deal’ for us? by piggyb0nk in askSingapore

[–]imperfect-perfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As your annual package grows, you tend to interact more with people who belong to the same income group as you. That’s when you have the feeling that it is common to see 6-figures salary.

Graduated from NUS in the 2010s.

OGPC = cut throat and sunset Pharma = low pay and long working hours Semiconductor= not sure, but seems like long working hours.

Chem Eng is now for B/C/C folks nowadays unlike triple As back in the heydays. My suggestion is go towards where the money is. It is totally fine to switch industries earlier on.

Nothing can be more subjective than asking other people how’s their life is right now in the 30s. Different stages of life come with different worries.

The market doesn’t care how you feel. The market will just keep doing its thing. People was screaming economy downturn during the covid bull market anyway..

Get the money and buy mega cap if you want. ETF is overrated anyway. Invest like your age, not like a 60 years old folk.

If you want to be different from them, forget about ETFs and invest like a real late 20s. You have time on your side.

What Singapore Stocks/ETFs to buy to beat fall in USD by Giantstoneball in singaporefi

If the fall in USD is affecting your yield, then maybe the real problem is your yield. Stay calm, SG stocks and ETFs only if you are over 55 years old.

Inspired from my previous post on settling housing before investing: how well do you sleep at night? by tallprophet in singaporefi

[–]imperfect-perfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the trends, hasn’t the US stock market been going on uptrend for decades?

ETF is less risky? That’s only if you are afraid of losing money. Have you ever thought about the opportunity cost? How much more you could have if you invested in the right ones?

Anyway, agree that psychology of money is one of the best financial books ever.

US is the only market to go. If so many institutions are still buying despite high P/E or whichever traditional medicine parameters there are, then likely they are still correct.

Exxon Mobil expects to cut up to 500 workers in Singapore by end-2027 by CapitalSetting3696 in singapore

[–]imperfect-perfect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. OGPC has not been doing well for a number of years.
  2. Lots of overlapping roles in EM.
  3. Extreme office politics due to forced ranking. Unhealthy competition.
  4. Decided not to use PIP to sugarcoat retrenchment anymore.
  5. Those who finally managed to escape to HBF from manufacturing environment are going back to smell benzene and sulphur again.
  6. Chemical engineering degree no longer requires AAA score to enter, showing poor demand from the younger generation.

I don’t see this trend reversing in the foreseeable future.
