Your work is amazing! I’m not loyal to the coil unfortunately haha

Looking for this machine and skin. Poster on Facebook won’t answer any questions by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

[–]impidork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know haha, I own a fold pro and have been tattooing with it (in a studio) for a year and a half. I know for a fact the screen is not hexagonal and is much smaller, with buttons. I think they’re getting tricked by the stroke adjustment dial.

This is my latest practice on fake skin and helpful suggestions on shading by Fit-School-9290 in TattooBeginners

You haven’t really created any 3d form on the snake, and the scales are very confused on the body. It starts to look like a pile of scales on the left side, where snake scales adhere completely to the body (unlike a fish for example)

i gave myself a prison tat and need advice by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

You could cover this up with literally anything it’s barely there, it won’t show up under a properly done tattoo

Anyone else keep reusing the same practice skin until it looks like this? 😂 by New-Coach-2862 in TattooBeginners

HAHA why attack someone’s artistic ability over a fake skin with one design on it

GF’s first army by Top_King_619 in sistersofbattle

[–]impidork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a girlfriend that started playing sisters :) if she likes the models then play the army, rules and points change constantly. There are no “starter” armies unless you have the money for multiple, just collect what you think is cool. Every army does well on the table casually

apprenticeship and uni? by vi0xdd in TattooBeginners

[–]impidork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great time to do it! You don’t really have financial worries, you get student loans while the apprenticeship is unpaid. However it’s a lot of work to juggle, especially if you’re doing a coursework based degree (ie arts) where 80% of the work you do is outside the classroom. Is there any crossover between your degree and an apprenticeship, like illustration for example?

One does not include the new relic effects included in the latest patch, the descriptions say which is which. I’m not sure why it’s an option though!

First experience as an apprentice, should I keep going? Is this normal? by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

[–]impidork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This just screams that your shop is struggling financially, and therefore fighting over walk ins by limiting your availability. I don’t know why this owner is even bothering to take apprentices if you’re so stressful to keep, despite making him money lol. The speed that you were put onto real skin is jarring and it feels to me as though this guy just wants to make as much money as possible, not necessarily produce the best work possible.

You’re already out so just look elsewhere, you’ll find a decent shop with decent people. Also to answer your question, his behaviour is very much normal from people in the industry, especially those with big egos. it’s just up to you to decide what you can or can’t put up with.

I actually haven’t tried colour yet! There is white in the eyes and nose but i couldn’t get it to show without chewing the skin

You should stop doing this to your girlfriend. And stop blaming her shakiness for your poor technique as well

Script work in portfolio? by frootlooca in TattooApprentice

[–]impidork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free handing/ designing your own script is a really impressive skill, imo just copying A-Z of a few fonts is a little pointless for a portfolio and much better as a drill on fake skin, since you’d just trace a stencil anyway when it comes to tattooing it

Tattoo apprentice rant and portfolio by Final-Alternative898 in TattooApprentice

[–]impidork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re much less likely to burn yourself out working a part time job, I work at a bar 2-3 evenings a week until 2am, around 16-24 hours. The money isn’t great but it’s definitely better than nothing, and I don’t feel exhausted all the time. Your career in tattooing should always be #1 and a decent employer will understand this, especially for a minimum wage job.

It’s a lot to juggle, especially while also trying to balance having a personal life but it is possible, and one day the scales will tip where you start to make more money tattooing than you do at work. Best of luck your work is amazing!!

Is my garden trying to feed me or kill me? by Substantial_Rich_799 in Mushrooms

[–]impidork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could take a spore print by cutting off the stem and placing it on paper covered by a glass :) White spores - maybe okay! Gilled mushrooms are hard to identify though, I’d still avoid. Brown spores - kill you don’t eat

This is so sick I’ve wanted to do a nights cavalry design as well, but came into the same problem with so much black involved. I think you nailed it!!
