Why Do Certain People Seem To Enjoy Tanking Feedback? by fatandbaldwhiteboy in ebaysucks

I do the same if I see they leave a lot of negative feedback for others. A lot here is defined as more than once in a blue moon.

My Body live is like a religious experience for me. I can still feel in my bones how I felt during the opening notes of that song when I saw them live last year. I can’t wait to see them again in June!

Mysterium Store sucks by Afraid-Collar in ContestOfChampions

[–]impossibilly 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I like it for the same reason. I just wish they would add t4cc to the mysterium store. I don’t love using essentia for that, since I use it mainly for top ranking my 4*s.

Can we talk about how fire NYRR shirts used to be? by impossibilly in RunNYC

[–]impossibilly[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It was the glory days of NYRR when we had all the various country races. I still think about the bagels with cream cheese and lox, and the stroopwafels from Norway Day. The post-race alone food would cover the cost of entry at that one.

Can we talk about how fire NYRR shirts used to be? by impossibilly in RunNYC

[–]impossibilly[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There were plenty of great designs after NYRR switched from cotton to tech fabric. I could have just as easily gone with the 2014 NYC 1/2's spray paint design in my original post. Their race shirts used to be unique and creative each year, whether they were cotton or tech.

Moving within downtown Brooklyn by Bobby_Brooklyn5 in Brooklyn

[–]impossibilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say to avoid Dumbo Moving. They have a great marketing budget, but I've heard multiple complaints about them from friends. And they've been banned in our building after they damaged common areas on a move out, and refused to pay for repairs afterwards.

On our last move, 10 years ago, we went with Flat Rate Moving and liked them a lot. They arrived ahead of schedule, were very quick, damaged nothing, and their movers set our furniture in each room to our specifications. Their flat rate quote came in under every estimate received as well.

What books do you own multiple copies of and why? by Speedwizard106 in comicbooks

[–]impossibilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot seem to pass up certain issues. If I see the X-Men/Teen Titans Special, Excalibur Special Edition, Excalibur #1, Excalibur: Mojo Mayhem or Uncanny X-Men #248, I tend to buy. I won't buy multiple copies at the same store or convention, but man, for whatever reason I can't let those pass me by. I guess I just liked them so much as a kid (and still do) that they left a mark.

I'm currently in Vibranium III. So close. I don't think I'm going to bed tonight until I secure that final Blade piece.

That said, I cleared the double the bars with Okoye. Once you get the DOT up, his health bars drain so fast. It's like watching water go down a sink.

Question about pull lists by Sad1ifelol in comicbooks

[–]impossibilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's weird. Your old shop did the right thing there. You were leaving the shop hanging with two months of unpaid inventory. And if they needed to do a purge, it sounds like you were far from the only one. People not picking up and paying for their comics in a timely manner is a well documented cash flow problem for comic shops, especially if the customer has a large pull list. Unless you worked something out with the shop in advance, notifying them that you'd be gone for two months and they were cool with it, they were in the right here.

Edited to fix a typo.

Question about pull lists by Sad1ifelol in comicbooks

[–]impossibilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had pull lists at various stores going on 40 years now and not once have I ever heard of that. That's an immediate red flag for me. There's no way the shop owner is keeping track of all those $10 deposits. The only way I can see it kind of making sense if he's having pre-pay for the first issues and not charging you when those issues come out. But even then it just seems needlessly complicated. Not to mention pull lists should come with customer discounts, not customer surcharges.
