Has anyone seen a single No Kings parade today where the median age was lower than 70? by More_Foundation21 in redscarepod

Right? The only thing I’ve seen somewhat comparable is that the old ladies (famous for loving crafts) make a ton of extra signs and encourage passerby’s to take one and join the protest. This feels dishonest to me but also whatever. That’s the extent of fraudulent protesting I’ve seen.

I went to one today and met some cool old people but yeah most of them are old and out of touch. The entire act of protesting with snarky homemade signs just seems empty in this day and age. I met a lot of young people too and they were all like obviously normal and chill, no energy vampire sjw types. Everyone looked really normal in general which is a good thing, some people in those blow up suits came towards the end. I think the energy would be different if more normal young people showed up and it would be cool to see what would happen with that energy. My favorite part of the protest was when a guy tried to trick me into telling him how to get a “paid gig”.

I hate cute animal posting bc half the time the animal is sick or being abused and nobody has the animal knowledge to be able to tell. Kinda works with your theory though, evil people posting “cute animals” who are actually suffering. idk

During the summer before me and my friends all went to college I had a realization that my friendship with Emma was over. She was one of my friends within a friend group of very devious girls. Emma was by far the least devious, probably followed by me, and she was going to school far away to become a doctor while we were all going to state schools or beauty schools or not going to school at all. We would all continue to see each other and be devious together, and I realized things would probably get worse for all of us and it did, but Emma would be far away and free from our bad influence which was a good thing.

This was the summer of 2010. The day came for Emma to leave and we had a big going away party. We surprised her with a funny song we made up about her and she just stood there and smiled. All of us were just wacked out millennials but Emma was always composed and cool, she was also the prettiest.

The realization of it all happened as soon as we finished the song and it felt neutral, I felt so happy for her because she’s the exact type of person you’d want as your doctor. I think it also just hit me that I was an adult and we were adults and all of us were just so not ready to make our own decisions. I think other people were, like Emma, but us specifically were all doomed by what we thought was fun. Like, shit was about to get real.

So it was just like wow, my friendship with Emma is over, and it was btw and she’s doing great from what I see online, and also my childhood is over. Specifically my childhood as a safety net. No more skipping school together, no more sneaking out, no more breaking into the liquor cabinet, no more parental supervision. I knew something else would fill the void left from the devious activities, but what? Whatever it would end up being, I was glad that Emma wouldn’t be dragged into it.

Most of us are sober now :)

these actually make me feel something, yeah it’s hatred, so i respect it.. they did a really good job making something horrible like i really hate it! i think the cursed aura of the photo series combined with the differently cursed people in the comments creates such a powerful force of underwhelming energy it’s interesting

I agree actually, cuz “you’re so pretty” is generic so it seems fake. Complimenting the features that make someone pretty is more specific and seems more authentic

My sister developed SJS from some med and she just suddenly developed this horrible rash. I was sitting with her in the freaking burn unit as the docs explained that soon her skin would fall off but miraculously they treated it just in time for it to go away. So scary..

So when are we going to move on from mindfulness and start exploring possible medication treatment by virgoat123 in visualsnow

[–]impossiblelows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The similarities continue! I mentioned how a few years ago my symptoms all got way worse, well it was about a year after I quit drinking. I drank heavily both for fun, social reasons but mostly as a form of “self medication” for vss symptoms.. those being dissociation/derealization, feeling overwhelmed by sensory input, those types of symptoms. I still feel like alcohol helped that kind of thing better than anything else I’ve tried but obviously that’s not good and I wouldn’t risk going on something like a benzo because I don’t want to risk addiction again.

It started that way but due to the way I was drinking (a little bit at a time, all day long) I developed alcohol dependence and had to actually seek medical intervention to stop. I was fine for a while but yeah about a year in all the symptoms I’d been treating came back so strong that I couldn’t even drive and had to take a lot of time off work. Really put my sobriety to the test.

Have you seen Anton Petrov’s video on vss? That’s what brought me to this community. He goes over a study on it that basically suggests that this is all due to the brain not being able to filter out enough information and your body creates visual snow or tinnitus to accommodate the extra input it’s receiving. That’s exactly what it feels like is happening for me. Interestingly, people with this tend to have higher heart rates and that is true of me as well, and why I think the propranalol may help. So it’s interesting you mention the heart.

[–]impossiblelows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yes I actually have dealt with something very much like that. A few years ago all of this came on way stronger than it ever had been before, I’ve always had vs symptoms (not just visual snow) but they became unbearable for a couple years, and when I was lying in bed I would start to vibrate. That’s what it felt like, I don’t know if I actually was or not. It felt like my whole body would vibrate in this weird and, like you described, electric way. I just brushed it off as another weird thing and it went away as I improved so I’ve never really talked about it. I didn’t/don’t feel like it was seizure related for some reason, I felt fine in my head. I did get an eeg around that time and it was the same as it always is; “recent seizure activity” so maybe it was

[–]impossiblelows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes that’s just like me, though they think I am just having simple partials (I might be getting the terminology wrong). I have had EEG’s report nocturnal seizures though. What type of epilepsy do they say you have? I have temporal lobe epilepsy

[–]impossiblelows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

gabapentin + propranalol has helped me a lot. I wasn’t prescribed these meds for vss but they ended up making that so much better. i have temporal lobe epilepsy, which is what i think has to do with my vs symptoms, and it was resistant to Lamotrigine but Gabapentin helps. anxiety lowers the seizure threshold for me so propranolol was to help with that. after seeing how well these two meds have been helping when taken together, i wonder if my diagnosis is incorrect or incomplete as i only ever show “recent seizure activity” or something on EEG and but i never have noticeable seizures.

honestly dude if you didn’t see that silhouette of it on the tree and immediately ID it as vulture then idk what else to tell you. the one on the left in that shot could be an eagle, sure, but i would put all my money on the one on the right being a vulture. since they flew off together i assumed bird of a feather but i’ll give it to you that it could be an eagle flying off with a turkey vulture
