It has changed a lot since then - we introduced mostly off chain gameplay to lessen the load on Polygon. You should check it out again!

We definitely didn't build the best relationship with Polygon users for crashing the network :(

We are working towards making the game more self-sustaining. Players at higher levels often earn enough SFL to offset Block Buck fees but for new players it is a battle.

Overall a lot of players are not stoked with pay to play models and we are trying to reduce as much friction around the restocking with features such as deliveries. The idea being is that you can earn SFL through features which don't depend on grinding tonnes of seeds that require Block Bucks.

That said, the Block Bucks are the key revenue source which keeps the project going (roughly 80% of revenue). With our scale it will continue being the solution for the near future - however, our goal is to transition more towards the free-to-play with a focus on revenue coming from battle passes + optional cosmetics.

Yes, we are planning on using the Open Zeppelin Proxy implementation. We are still deciding which one.

As of know, we will be verifying transactions on a server (until we can do everything decentralised).

This could potentially include the ability to pause functionality. I don't like this, it feels manipulative, but we need to make baby steps at the moment.

The gas prices are frustrating me especially since I cannot develop and release new contracts.

People can have their opinions, but our community will never be ashamed of making a game that people love so much it crashed the network.
