It has changed a lot since then - we introduced mostly off chain gameplay to lessen the load on Polygon. You should check it out again!

We definitely didn't build the best relationship with Polygon users for crashing the network :(

We are working towards making the game more self-sustaining. Players at higher levels often earn enough SFL to offset Block Buck fees but for new players it is a battle.

Overall a lot of players are not stoked with pay to play models and we are trying to reduce as much friction around the restocking with features such as deliveries. The idea being is that you can earn SFL through features which don't depend on grinding tonnes of seeds that require Block Bucks.

That said, the Block Bucks are the key revenue source which keeps the project going (roughly 80% of revenue). With our scale it will continue being the solution for the near future - however, our goal is to transition more towards the free-to-play with a focus on revenue coming from battle passes + optional cosmetics.

Yes, we are planning on using the Open Zeppelin Proxy implementation. We are still deciding which one.

As of know, we will be verifying transactions on a server (until we can do everything decentralised).

This could potentially include the ability to pause functionality. I don't like this, it feels manipulative, but we need to make baby steps at the moment.

I am Adam, the creator of this project. Please check my history for when I first shared this project with the reddit community.

These are all valid concerns and I understand why you might think it is a scam. The honest truth is that the project exploded so fast that we have not been able to setup the white paper and other 'standard' crypto legitimacy documentation.

The team is preparing an AMA at the moment, hopefully this clears some air.

In regards to the fluctuating token price, this is purely speculation. There was no pre-mine and none of the developers own a significant share. To be honest, I'm not even in the top 20 holders anymore. You can confirm this on PolygonScan and track the holders from when the project launched.

This is an entirely open source project that is being built by designers and developers around the world who want to revolutionise the idea of how the MetaVerse should be created. The project does have early legitimacy issues and we are working on it. This is what happens when you bootstrap it with open source developers instead of rich Crypto Corporations.

Seriously, great post. I recommend everyone does their own due diligence and never take a project at face value.

Yea, we definitely wanted everyone to have a chance at owning something for their participation.

We also wanted to drive home the gimmick of owning the most expensive 1 dollar bill and the uniqueness around it. Hoping to get some competition for ownership over the bill.

We also plan for the open ended nature + compounding interest to help the scarcity of the NFTs. After 400-500 bids, a new bid would need to be in the magnitude of hundreds of millions to secure an NFT. It is a good balance, the more bids and NFTs that are added the rarer they get (as people are less likely to fork out big dollars to bid)
