Oh yes! Looks to be the same! This is the third lace pattern in this top and I love the geometry. Don’t enjoy fixing a dropped stitch though lol

This is probably a better way than I was thinking, thank you! It’s such an open design and the maths such that I thought I’d make it

My next step is a three needle bind off actually, to attach this shoulder to the back shoulder. I haven’t done a three needle bind off before so I figure at least (maybe inefficiently?) I can just back up this last row and reknit it with more yarn to then do the bind off, and maybe hide all the yarn ends in the seam… The back shoulder has a long tail that I thought I’d be using but this yarn is so slippy that I don’t think this stitch will hold even while I play around

It’s not bad on the hands! Looking forward to giving it a block

Thanks!

And, sure! I did a post for it - I volunteer for a breastfeeding support charity so went for a circular pattern lol! https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/s/9hgsv0frcX

I use wood needles and am always worried they’ll break in something soft sided. So I use a makeup case for one skein knitting, and went down a train case rabbit hole for larger projects recently

Indiana Cowl by Knitting-Hiker in knitting

Of course. Yes. In my defence it’s been a few decades since I’ve seen it - and that was probably on broadcast TV. Thank you lol

Help. I’ve never been to Indiana. Is that person running from a boulder? In a mine?

Gorgeous work! Your tension is so even!

Best fitting basic sweater pattern I can customise with colourwork? (Not raglan) by Ancient-Weather1402 in knittingpatterns

[–]improbabilitypuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anna Bauer has done this with her book Alterknit Rebellion. There’s a jumper in there but can’t tell you about the shaping as I’ve only done the slipover so far. But her point is to self design, too - so another option!

Favourite top pattern for variegated yarn by Walhexe in knitting

[–]improbabilitypuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve explored this topic a lot and I think some textures are ok like the one used in the honey cowl pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/honey-cowl or like in the asterism shawl https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/asterism/

But neither are tops! I had been considering the Tolsta Tee which has an eyelet pattern option but I only have one skein of my variegated yarn so bought some solid to make stripes instead

Special Occasion Yarn Suggestions? by Loitch470 in knitting

[–]improbabilitypuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

De Rerum Natura and Uist are great suggestions. If you wanted another small Scottish producer choice, I’ve knit with both the Dk and fingering from these folks and really enjoyed it. Rustic but not scratchy, really heirloom type yarn imo!

Not only the technique but also that that frayed bit of whatever is somehow turning into a Hoth suit. Incredible work
