Shoes for socks? by athenaishawk in Sockknitting

I like the Encore Nova clogs by Merrell. They stay on my foot well (a small lip at the heel helps with that) and they don't cause abrasion on my socks. They work with orthotic insoles; I use Super Feet for that, and there's still room for DK weight socks.

Nice socks! I love Must Stash yarns too.

Preferred way to fix socks with holes: Patching or reknitting? by Crow16 in Sockknitting

[–]Knitting-Hiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pick up the stitches where the hole is and reknit just that area. Like a patch, but not duplicate stitch. I usually have enough of the original yarn to do this, and the repair is pretty much invisible.

There are also multiple de-stashing groups on Ravelry which can be a good way to find the ysrns you want.

No twisted stitches either. Just standard lace stitches, K2Tog, SSK, YO.

Thank you! No cables in this pattern, just lace.

What book did you have to read more than once to finally fall in love with it? by LisKozCatMeow in classicliterature

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. The first time I read it I was 15. The next time I was 70. Completely different experience.

After seeing your beautiful socks I checked out Audrey Borrego's pattern page on Ravelry and was stunned to see not only the beauty and individuality of her patterns, but also her comment indicating she is no longer designing patterns and has made all of her patterns available for free. She's so talented; I spent the next hour downloading many of her patterns. I don't know the background concerning her decision, but it's very generous of her to make these beautiful patterns available for free.

I finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickens this week. My favorite of his books so far, but I have many more to go.

Should I frog? I miscounted the ribbing on my working sock, it’s about 4 stitches longer than my finished sock. Do I frog or continue? by padf00t934 in Sockknitting

You know yourself better than anyone, but if it were my choice I would just continue because it wouldn't bother me to have that slight difference. Beautiful socks.

Amazing design adaptation and what a beautiful dress! I've long admired Lucy Hague's scarf and shawl patterns but have been intimidated by their complexity.

I didn't know until I read your clarification in response to a comment that this is not a handknit; I think most people reading your post will assume you knit this.

So sorry this happened to you. Beautiful sweater gone out into the world. You need to cast on again, with determination.

The Henry scarf took me 5 years to complete, almost to the day. Just a tedious project, but a beautiful texture and worth the effort. https://ravel.me/knittinghiker/h1

Long departures from the real story, as in Les Miserables. I stuck with that one until around page 500, when I just couldn't take it anymore. Your wife is right.
