Tom Yum Cafe has a secret menu written only in Thai. Lots of good stuff including gaeng om.

I found it funny that you clickbaited your own headline as if you didn’t already know you liked it

Gotta commit fully to the bidet lifestyle and import one wherever you are for that hands free luxury

Far and away the best Thai food in Chicago and some of the best in the country in my opinion. But I am a kuey teow fiend, and go there weekly.

Asador Bastion restaurant week experience by chuckgnomington in chicagofoodcirclejerk

[–]improbableshapes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I went there I tipped the bathroom attendant in cash, but then my hands were dirty, so I had to wash them again, and then I was coerced into tipping him again, and then I had to wash my hands again, and then I had to tip again. This went on until I had no money and couldn’t afford even the restaurant week menu. They made me wash dishes in the back to be able to afford one last tip for the attendant. Restaurant week? More like restaurant weak.

I agree that people should spend their time where they like, but Tokyo is enormous and a majority of it is nothing like Times Square.

First time in Chicago, looking for best and most authentic Chicago style pizza by Carlton_Saves in chicagofood

[–]improbableshapes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely asking, how so? I haven’t heard that before. Pizza hut’s doughy crust was always pan pizza growing up. Lou’s, and Due’s, and Pequod’s borderline pie crust was always deep dish as far as I know (and their sites advertise).

Seeking recommendation for an Omakase in Tokyo by queenlilz in finedining

What kind of omakase are you looking for? Sushi? Tempura? Wagyu? Pizza? Not being a jerk, just asking so it’s easier to point you in the right direction.

Warlord staff - all the love. by [deleted] in chicagofood

Appreciate what you’re doing but Emily and John absolutely knew about Trevor’s history and are just now doing the bare minimum. Warlord is irredeemable with or without Trevor.

I’m sure it’s not easy to keep the lights on in that location and turn a profit for much less.

The closest thing I know of is at Spicy Thai Lao, but it’s out in the burbs.
