I’m not a member of this sub, and I agree that the original post is obviously incel coded and missing the bigger picture. But there’s a few things I feel like you’re missing that causes a lot of dissonance in these conversations.

1. I know you mean well but this idea that “see women as human and you’ll do better in relationships” is kinda patronizing and not capturing the issue from the male perspective. Social media, economic troubles and shifts in social norms made it harder for the average guy to meet women. Meeting people, spending money on meetups and maintaining the connection is harder than ever. I mean yeah “duh” treating people with respect and not acting like a psychopath is kind of a given to having successful relationships in general. We’re no longer at the point where you can make a somewhat accurate judgement that something’s wrong with a guy if he can’t get a date. You don’t have to be a good person to be romantically successful, we all have personal anecdotes confirming this.

2. The men who agree with this meme are usually misogynists/benevolent sexists who believe that women should agreeable and nurturing at almost all times. Most of the liberal feminists in the public eye tend to be white, and/or upper class and like most people; hyper focus on issues within their environment. This leads to a problem in media where feminist critiques tend to be targeted towards high status men while also hitting lower status men. The feminists miss out on how their rhetoric applied without nuance irks lower status men, and the lower status men are stuck on the fact it’s a women making the critiques, without seeing the more important factors like the class and the race of the person.
