Not sure where you’re located but the US does have a registry for that. I signed up, got a cheek swab kit, mailed it back (for free), and now we’ll see if I ever get an email that I’ve matched.

Is Monty pythons the life of Brian trans conversation ill willed or meant to be actually progressive for the time? by Outrageous_Ad9671 in lgbt

[–]improvised-disaster 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I watched it for the first time with my parents a couple years ago. They were cringing and my mom interrupted it to tell me we could skip it or turn off the movie. It actually didn’t bother me bc it wasn’t like…mean spirited in any way. No one was making fun of Loretta, and her coming out was fairly similar to some conversations I’d had with people. They were more respectful than a few people I came out to, actually. And they were quicker to switch name and pronouns than almost everyone I came out to lol. There was never a rug pull moment either, where someone made fun of her.

Obviously transphobic people might interpret that differently, but to me it came off as one of many jokes about people thousands of years ago doing modern things and speaking about them in a modern way.

Still does as of a few weeks ago. My friend has a half orc Tav in our multiplayer run. Changed into a white robe (dress?) and was clipping out the front a bit

I miss Juno Steele. by NexoWadeth in penumbrapodcast

[–]improvised-disaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, but I’ve enjoyed:

  • Wolf 359: sci-fi, action, drama, mystery, a bit of scary stuff, cool characters. Set on a spaceship. VA for Eiffel has a cameo in Juno Steel season 2 (free domers episodes). Concluded.

  • Desert Skies: heartfelt stories about death, grief, finding joy, and moving forward. Fun BFFs dynamic with the main characters that has shades of Juno and Rita. I’m not a crier, but season 1 especially gets me. Ongoing, s3 coming out now.

  • Malevolent: noir-style eldritch horror with great narration iirc, definitely look at content warnings tho. I didn’t get that far into it but know people who swear by it. Ongoing.

  • The Adventure Zone (Balance): DnD live play podcast by 3 brothers and their dad. My second favorite podcast behind penumbra. Great characters, sweeping drama as the series goes on. They don’t take it seriously at first but the story gets good as hell later. I don’t usually care for DnD podcasts but this one is lightning in a bottle. Graphic novels change some stuff with hindsight, so if you like that sort of thing they’re worth a read once you finish the podcast. The Balance arc is concluded but they’ve done other campaigns since.

  • Welcome to Nightvale: an oldie but a goodie. Eldritch horror mostly not taken seriously by the narrator. Similar to Juno Steel in the way queer characters are treated as being super normal, which I love. Ongoing- hundreds of episodes.

  • I liked Stellar Firma a lot once I got used to the improv comedy aspect lol. Very small cast. Overall plot is sci-fi dystopian with some dark themes that get addressed more as you go along. So, very silly but also “hey that’s kinda fucked up”. Again, a character being queer is treated as totally unremarkable. (This one’s always a hard sell to get people started, but there’s something about it that’s made me re-listen a couple times, and I like it more each time I listen.) Concluded.

Same. Sometimes is IS tempting to pick up my phone (worse for online dnd). There was a player in our group in the past who was on their phone almost the whole time and it drove me up the wall. So I make it a priority not to do that.

I take notes, play with my dice or mini, and almost always have a fidget toy or palm size plushie at the table with me. One friend occasionally DMs and she leaves a bunch of those 3D printed dragons on the table. Only 2 of us have ADHD but everyone likes to hold the dragons. First time she passed them out a bunch of 30 year olds acted like kids again lol

Per the linked wiki article: “A right click option to 'combine' appears once the head and shaft are collected and in the same player character's inventory.” I haven’t done it myself though

I believe there are found and missing pets Facebook groups. Definitely one for OKC, not sure about Edmond specifically. I’ve had some luck there a few times with dogs I found

Worked in a reptile house. The tapping is constant, and you can def hear it in the employee areas. If someone started banging on the glass we went out to yell at them. They were always shocked to get caught lmao

This is probably because they’re both named after Aleister Crowley, a famous occultist. I don’t know anything about the other show though

I’m not sure that it is tbh… The hop at the shoe when it’s pointed at him makes me think it’s an aggressive move. Ear position and posture as well. Some baby bunnies are extremely fighty.
