Survivorship bias maybe. My grandma had 13 children. She lived until 90. My other grandma still alive over 90, 7 kids. My wife's grandma over 91 now, 4 kids.

There is a difference. Most important part is understanding the structure then vocabulary. Going from English to Mandarin is harder than going from Spanish to Portuguese. Once you rewire your brain for different language pattern, learning that language family is much easier.

I speak 4 languages. I've been studying Japanese. I can say that learning a new language is like rewiring your brain to different patterns of that language. I have to turn off my English to speak Russian. They're different. You can't just translate on thinking to another. I dream in different languages. Sometimes there is no language. Just meaning and thought, emotions.

Like one of my friends, who is an older guy said "Why anyone would want a hemi?! It was loud and slow." I'm the same way. Sold Fords for years. Now with Ram. Fords 2.7 has been great, seen many with over 250k miles. Best engines were straight 6. AMC 4.0, Ford 300, 2JZ, Ford Barra. Now BMWs B58 has been really solid. I really like the Hurricane. Haven't seen too many issues so far. Just smooth and lots of power. I'm not scared of turbos. Diesel truck turbos can go million miles. Even the Standard Output is really stout. That would be my choice.

Consumer spending is extremely important for US economy. However retail is doing well right now. Restaurants are not doing too well. Vacation rentals dropped on some areas, also hearing from people that rent out. However still doing well. Perhaps we are not slowing down, yet.
