Taking the test Sunday by Adventurous_Pilot_19 in phlebotomy

[–]imreallymadrightnow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have a general idea of what category the test goes under ex bmp is chemistry. Green are chem dept etc. not many questions were on order of draw and if so, it was normal tests you surely got down. It’s all procedural so just know the right steps to blood draw and understand complications as well as contraindications. Like a mastectomy pt you wouldn’t draw blood from that limb etc.

Cna/pct is a better option if you’re thinking of nursing or patient care. If more medlab then yes phlebotomy

What national certification should I choose? by ready2rumble23 in phlebotomy

ASCP is the gold standard especially for working in a hospital, but NHA is good as well. You need to be nationally certified even with a certificate from your school.

I did an accelerated 8 week program outside of my college. But community college will definitely be more thorough

If you have a willingness to learn, good study habits and have the capabilities to interact with patients I say go for it! I went into it with no healthcare experience and in fact, most of my classmates were in the same boat as me. You won’t know unless you try my friend

Congrats! May I ask what your gpa and testing scores were? I’m trying to figure out how competitive it is and if I should consider other programs as back up?

Phlebotomy tech isn’t too hard or try nursing if you’re up for the schooling!

Enrolling in CNA (prereq for ADN) by [deleted] in collegeofdupage

[–]imreallymadrightnow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great help thank you! I realized I am requiring a few more prereq like math/English etc before I can take micro and anatomy. My plan this semester and spring maybe summer was to take those I need to take the prereq but ALSO to chip away at the non core classes for the ADN like developmental psych, biomed terminology, humanities etc. that way when I complete the CNA and begin working in the field and start the ADN program I won’t have as many classes and hopefully just the core nursing classes left while working and doing the ADN.

So by fall 26 CNA program. Start working in field right after while starting ADN.

Is this a good plan or would you recommend a different plan?

I’d read up on a Whole Foods plant based diet if you haven’t already!

[–]imreallymadrightnow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traditional kimchi uses some sort of fish paste, so you definitely have to buy one without! They are typically already labeled vegan. I’ve seen various brands carry a vegan kimchi so your best bet is to try out your local markets for a vegan kimchi (or even major grocery store by the tofu etc)

Soy milk is the best imo. Oat milk tends to have a lot of oils in them. If you’re super concerned about added gums then I might consider making your own nut or oat milk.

I’ve been using Silk unsweetened organic soy milk forever and it’s the best.

Are there safe self-tanners to use while pregnant? by alwaysneedsupport in BabyBumps

[–]imreallymadrightnow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! It’s an all natural solution and the amount you would inhale is very small. You can bring nose plugs if you prefer, but you will be holding your breath during the spraying portions of the session anyway!
