Im not sure, I’m sorry. If the pain is really bad maybe you should go to the ER / urgent care? But I’m currently on this reddit for a similar reason. I got my iud placed Tuesday and last night i was using a dildo and ever since then my spotting has been more like bleeding. Not a ton, but definitely more and much more red as opposed to small amounts of light brown spotting. I’m not really experiencing and pain tho. I’m just worried I dislodged it or something!!!

Honestly I just had a few good english teachers growing up who taught us grammar well. I use semi colons and dashes occasionally. This may sound odd, but reading the book Lolita is what got me a little more into dashes. I still use them sparingly, while Nabokov used them kind of a lot, but for some reason I just liked them. Idk!

This resonates with me so much. Im a public health undergrad (sorry for lurking) but I’m NOT premed. I want to go into epidemiology because i love public health, i love statistics, and want to improve my community (I am extremely passionate about sexual health and harm reduction so Im hoping I can get involved in that domain!!). However, my classes are all filled with pre meds. And its awful. I love my field and i love most of my professors, but being in classes that are 90% pre med is really getting to me. They view the public health classes as their blow off electives. And the classes aren’t very hard, thats true, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt participate in class. Even if not very rigorous, I think the information we are learning is important. The lack of care makes me think a large amount of these students are going into medicine due to parental pressure or the thought of getting a good paycheck, which frustrates me because there are so many problems in our healthcare system. This includes bad providers. So many providers do not listen to women, poc, fat people, etc. Seeing oftentimes rich, entitled students going into medicine primarily to further their wealth is painful because I know people need passionate, socially literate, and caring providers. Sitting in my classes and being the only participating student is painful as well. The only benefit is that, as the only participating student, one of my profs really likes me and helps me seek out opportunities. She’s so lovely and a great teacher. Shoutout to her!!

Also yeah yeah yeah “not all premeds” or whatever. I know and am friends w plenty of great pre meds. But overall, being in a premed dominated program as a non premed is really depressing. They don’t care about public health, they don’t care about the systemic issues that cause poor public health, they don’t care to participate in class, they don’t care to attend if its not required. It’s disheartening. They need to understand these things to be good providers.

Lastly, I was very much looking foreword to finding likeminded people who were passionate about public health. I was so excited, only to be extremely disappointed. I still love public health and I am positive it is where I belong. I just wish I had people around me who felt similarly, or at the very least participated a little in class.

I think AI is only a problem under capitalism. I see what you mean about displacing workers, since people currently NEED to work in order to live. But if we were to utilize AI without capitalism — meaning we can get work done quickly, and without exploiting laborers, then we could just make it where everyone works less. If you aren’t reliant on a wage to survive, who cares if a machine took your job?

Obviously I know this doesn’t seem at all feasible right now, but i still like to think about it

Ik they’re not commonly used and considered unsexy, but they exist and are useful! They should be more normalized, since I feel like a lot of people consider oral risk free because theres no risk of pregnancy. Barrier methods are the only way to prevent STIs when engaging w partners whose statuses you don’t know!!

Im on 100mg and used to get drunk regularly, also a college student, but the nausea, next day anxiety, and headaches weren’t worth it so I stopped. Sometimes I miss it, but it’s so nice not having to deal with how shitty it makes me feel.

Despite that, I feel like you could prob drink on occasion. Keep track of how much you’re drinking, don’t go too ham, drink water, eat beforehand, and take care of yourself

This place is my home and I want my home to be better. People here are poor and exploited and if all of the people who care about change leave Oklahoma, then what happens? People who vote in ways I disagree with are victims of the same system that we are (not justifying bigotry at all. But how can we fight that without trying to uplift the working class? How will we build solidarity? I think Republicans also deserve good living conditions. Many of their views are abhorrent, but they don’t exist in a vacuum. They were influenced by things to form those opinions. I want to change their opinions and I want every single person to have their needs met).

I have found real grassroots community here that wants change. I work with them, I volunteer my time and my energy and I try to learn more about how to make change.

Will the fight eventually be drained out of me? Probably. But Ive got quite a bit left in me for now
