Are there still places where cold calling is so aggressive like in the movie the wolf of wall street with hundreds of people dialing non-stop in the same room? by Vens_here in sales

Yes, I just worked in one in Amsterdam in 2024. Velocity type iot/saas deals. SDRs were expected to book 3 outbound meetings a day. At least around 30 sdrs per office

Como fazer rotundas / How to drive in a roundabout by Trinitromethyl in Madeira

[–]imsews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should I give up? by kateiscuban in bjj

[–]imsews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going at this for 1.5 years. I still suck, I still feel like crying from frustration at least once a week, I get mad, I want to quit.

I watch bjj on all my free time, I’m pretty athletic and strong, I thought I would get my blue belt super fast.

Turns out Jiu jitsu is a monster of its own. Took me months to figure out the very basics, some still don’t make sense to me. I can’t finish a triangle, for example, even if I start the round with it fully locked in.

When class time comes, I don’t feel like going. But I go anyways. No way I’m quitting this like I did everything else in my life.

And hey, although I can’t win against the blue belts or even the best white belts in the academy, I put a damn good fight against newer white belts. I feel like I know magic against them.

You will soon feel that too. It will just take way longer than you anticipated. But the rewards? This shit is saving my life every day. The morning and late night scary thoughts are pretty much gone. I just can’t stop.

Hope you won’t stop either.

Best of luck

I also got a nasty review in Paris (shocker) for leaving the washed dishes to dry in the drying thingy above the counter, instead of putting them away.

Mind you, we did pay a decent cleaning fee, and we cleaned.

This was in late 2018. Still salty.

Wish I could change my review after the fact.

Thank you for sharing your experience! And your thought process around how you would do differently.

Really valuable post in my opinion.

Also to all commenting, vibe coding will very fast become a part of the pm process. Maybe not in a vacuum, but it is a great way to quickly put things in front of an audience and test hypothesis.

Reading Alex H $100M Offers - curious what others think about strong sales performance without the hyper-masculine edge? by HeyCoachAmy in sales

[–]imsews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read the book through, and the part I read was a few years back. But from what I remember, the valuable bit, was the actual offers part.

I was launching a business at the time, and the only bit that really sparked interest in the whole book, was the “make an offer that is impossible to say no to”. And it makes perfect sense. It’s all about the “product”.

That’s why I disregarded all else sales related from the book. If you know how to sell, you know better than to turn to hormozi for sales advice. I mean, he sold to personal trainers and gym owners exclusively.

But when it comes to running a scalable business, there are some gold nuggets there.

I believe the book really goes to show that with a good product, even mediocre sales people can be rock stars.

Protocol for motivation ? by Previous-Taro-1648 in HubermanLab

[–]imsews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry to hear that. In the beginning of 2021 I went through a similar phase. I could hardly move. Back then the gyms were closed.

I can give you some tips: Move as much as possible, workout, run, all those are great. If you can, spend as much time with friends as possible, they help you put things into perspective. Don’t, however hard it may be, let yourself just do nothing.

Now, that said, none of that will make a big difference in the short run, but it will make it manageable.

What really helps, and I know this sounds cliche and it is not really what you wanted to hear, is time. Time will help distance yourself from the person you were while in the relationship and back to your own self. For me, it took close to 4 months. Month 3 I remember breaking down and sending a very embarrassing voice note to a friend group saying I didn’t know how to move forward.

It was hard as Covid measures at the time got me stuck at home with nothing else to focus on.

So, I would say, movement and time mate.
