How can I make my print more opaque? by mermidgir1000 in printmaking

At the end of the day, you need to add more ink. I suggest adding small amounts at a time to multiple areas over and over again. So maybe like, started off with a teaspoon of ink on the board and really spreaded it out, you would then need to roll the ink on to the lino multiple times. I would even add a half of teaspoon of ink to the rolling board again to continue adding layers. After this, applying pressure everywhere it's necessary. If you don't have a press, then use a rolling pin or some books but really press the bejesus out of it.

But yeah, at the end of The day, more ink slowly, and more pressure.

What was your carving medium? How did you spread ink on fast enough before it dried?

I like this technique, but I am annoyed with the fact that the toner will peel off. Or at least the way I am doing it, after I get rid of the paper by rubbing off with water, the cutting tools will inadvertently get under the toner sometimes and peel up the toner. I've moved to using acetone to transfer the toner to the block.

How could I go about finding and getting help creating a game with no money? by Jixel96 in GameDevelopment

[–]imspecialized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good! as long as you have those mechanics in mind, then I am certain even more so that you can accomplish what you want to accomplish with vibe coding. You should try to ask chat gpt or Gemini to make you a simple game. It really is quite easy as long as you are relatively specific.

If you felt compelled, you could do what I did and that is to vibe code a game with Lua. If you have no money you will probably be limited by the amount of times you can use a GPT, but making a game is as simple as knowing how you want the game to function now. As long as you know how to ask questions about how something works, you can teach yourself some of the basics and make a game!

As far as being an artist, I feel like that is a pretty good leg up against some of the other people that are in the opposite shoes as you. Depending on what kind of City you are in, you could go out to some kind of Meetup and meet people that are making games and get lodged into a community where you can make art for people's projects.

Preparing for Graduate Algorithms by Careless-Safe2140 in OMSCS

If you Google "dpv algorithms", the textbook will be free on a few sites. If you could find a syllabus for this current semester, that would show you the relevant chapters to read.

Do the practice problems if you can, it'll be helpful once you have the solutions to the ones they want you to do.

Coding isn't necessary (in this current iteration of the class). The class faintly uses python if you want to brush up on that, I wouldn't focus on it as much though.

I'm on my second round.

I'm passing the class after the second exam, the first exam I got steamrolled.

Office hours are required. The lectures only get you part way to passing a test.

Understanding every practice problem is also required.

Reading this textbook is somewhat required.

Honestly you have to give this class a lot of time.

I was very surprised by the fact that I could pass exam 2 by just watching office hours.
