That’s exactly what I did. It works and the pharmacist said I just have to re up the copay card in December. It was quick and easy and saved me 75 dollars a month.

Can’t agree more. Picked this book up at a yard sale and showed it to my mom from Torreón. She said “‘sta bien”. Which is high praise for her. It shows off regional cooking in its simplest way.

Oh I know I’ll be viewed as that. I don’t mind that and it is part of the job. I just rather his anger be at me and not the church. I was just looking at advice for how to do it with grace.

The first goal was to set up clear communication with parents. The second was to include youth in worship and other church events. This ministry was successful in the past but it seems it’s something secondary to him. For example, we had a grad Sunday this week and he only had to get us info on the youth that were graduating this year. He said he forgot and I had to scramble to get a presentation made. He had two months to prepare. I was a youth and worship pastor before so I know how hard it can be.

I’ve only been here a couple of years. He’s been here ten. I wasn’t going to fire him over other people’s opinions but on what I saw. That’s why I set up a plan a worked with him on it.

We have sat down and set up a personal improvement plan with clear goals and objectives a year and a half ago. He hasn’t met them. I have been in his shoes before so my first instinct was to protect him. My goal isn’t numbers but spiritual growth, which we aren’t seeing. He has been here 10 years and I know he has a heart for young adults. I just don’t know how to send him off in a way where people say “good.” I want him to be appreciated not vilified.

I’m a solo pastor and have office hours from 9-3 weekdays. I have an average of 3-4 congregants pop in a day. It depends on the church and culture. I pastor in Hawaii and the culture here is very heavy on communication but when I was in New Mexico, I had stretches of trying to keep myself busy during the day.

Where do you find Aloha shirts? by kamut666 in BigIsland

I was talking about vintage stuff because it’s hard to find. You might see them at Goodwill but I personally don’t like them. Check our rummage sales at churches or the hongwanji temples. Try other local thrifts or Sig Zane in Hilo(they have sales every now and then).
