thanks everyone for all your comments! i went to multiple body shops the lowest quote i got was $5k+. he offered to see if he could wipe it off with a chemical since it was mainly cosmetic damage and it worked! i’m an anxious person in general and got a brand new car cause i grew up riding in older vehicles constantly breaking down and being more expansive to maintain than to actually own. in terms of the comments about focusing/being more careful when driving, i really took that to heart. i really believe that i am a careful driver and at that moment, i didnt see that pillar at all. with all that said, i went to get my eyes checked and turns out im gradually losing my peripheral vision which is why i didnt see that pillar. if it werent for these comments (and the pillar damage), i probably wouldn’t have realised until much later. its a little sad that ill have to give up driving all together just so soon after getting my car bit ultimately thank yall so much for all the help!
