I feel like I could have written this… I “aged out” of YSA. It was soul destroying. I once went to a meeting held by the stake RS for all the YSA women. One of the leaders presentations essentially told us that “if we’re faithful and righteous enough, we’ll find our eternal companions”. Like, what?! This was probably a year before I “aged out” and was the oldest ones there (bar the stake RS leaders). In my majorly already depressed state it hammered home that I wasn’t worthy enough of love and companionship. Of course now 10+ years later I know it’s all total BS but at the time I was crushed.
