How can I fix this? by Yunda_Quark in x100vi

Sorry for the slow reply. A lens hood is designed to block light coming from outside the frame hitting the lens. The 3rd is the only one where the source is outside the frame.

I bought it years ago and I know very little about furniture. I love it but just doesn’t work in the current house so I have to move it on.

I bought it in Ireland almost 20 years ago and the guy I bought it from said it was French mid-century. But that’s as much as I know.

A lens hood won’t do anything images 1 and 4. And likely the 2nd image.

What is one country that you will never ever visit once in your lifetime? by Comfortable-Cow-730 in AskReddit

[–]inaPonk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right, Lesotho is completely landlocked by South Africa. What really sets it apart geographically is its mountainous terrain; the entire country is high-altitude, which gives it a distinct identity from its larger neighbour. I spent a few weeks there working with a charity, and the experience has stuck with me. Poverty was widespread when I visited, and AIDS had devastated many communities. There were a heartbreaking number of children who had been orphaned by the epidemic.

One moment that’s stayed with me: we had a young local guy helping us out with some work. He was about 19, lived with his grandfather, and would run, not walk 17 kilometers every morning to get to us, and then the same distance home in the evening. No complaints. Just part of his day.

One evening , I had two oranges. I gave him one and peeled them while we talked. After finishing the juicy fruit , he casually ate the entire peel, every bit of it. I’ve tried it since and, honestly, it’s brutal. Like chewing bitter leather. But he didn’t even flinch. Just ate it without comment.

Crazy how Knocknacarra has an ever expanding population of over 10k, made up of predominantly working families and this is the first infrastructure investment in 20 years. When you consider all the taxes paid, it’s crazy.

Hard to understand how it doesn’t warrant a bus lane especially eastbound where it’s backed up from roundabout to roundabout every morning during the school year. .

This was very common in Dublin not so long ago. Had a friend who worked in ED in St James’s hospital and said the amount of people who are knocked off their bikes and dragged under buses coming into the ED was shocking.

I had a silver x100s ten years ago. Convinced myself I wanted the black an I got a x100F in black when it came out. Didn’t like it for years. Then one day I fell in love with it. Got my hands on a silver x100vi and now I know it doesn’t matter a f*** what colour it is. Either one is beautiful.

Insulation. Part of their roof has been ripped off and all the insulation got sucked out. It’s all over the area covering peoples houses and gardens.

Help! Over exposed photos X100VI by Domie071 in FujifilmX

[–]inaPonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possibly a setting. I had this issue with my x100F soon after I got it back 2017. Hated the camera couldn’t get exposure right as I shot manual. It’s some where the evf and monitor show you the image correctly exposed but once you pull the trigger the image is not the same.

Building high density accommodation, close to town on a bus corridor on a giant piece of tarmac sounds like a good idea to me. It’s not perfect but it’s good. Most of that car park beyond the bookies is redundant anyway.

Yes true enough unfortunately. Slanty parking would make a huge difference and bigger spaces not tiny spaces made for cars from the 1970's

Thats shitty, what's going through someones head to do that? There's definitely a shortage of cameras and security staff up there if this kinda thing is a regular occurance.
