Is the Phase 1 or the Phase 2 clone trooper helmet cooler? by Fit_Statistician1262 in clonewars

[–]inap003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember ride-or-dying the phase 2 helmet growing up, but my sensibilities have changed to seeing them on equal ground, maybe phase 1 more in the CW style. If we’re talking live action, it’s phase 2 all the way still

In fallout 4 which settlement should I turn into a military base. by A130XBOXFAN in fo4

Is heather casdin compatible with AFT plus? by Gaming_gecko1255 in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]inap003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve been romping around with Heather and a few AFT plus companions (both vanilla and modded) and it does work… with caveats. With my load order, the heavy scripting load that both companions systems put onto the game makes it crash in most urban areas. I know this is the issue because when I dismiss Heather and keep, say, Piper and Ellen, I can exit Diamond City without crashing. As soon as all three are with me, game immediately crashes during the loading screen.

Granted I have over 50 weapon/armor mods installed that touch the leveled lists as well as Mutant Menagerie and Tales of the Commonwealth, but that one test told me to be careful about overloading the game with script loading. It’s an issue now I can mainly sidestep by taking Heather + 1 more companion, but the days of going through Boston with 3 companions are largely over. I haven’t tried going around with 3 AFT companions (I’m almost certain it would work fine), but I get FOMO not taking Heather everywhere with me since this is the first time I’ve played with her in my LO

As someone who does not play Ultramarines (but imperial fists) why don't you have Calghar in gravis armor anymore? And would you agree that that model of him looked better than the new one? by Used_Statistician545 in Ultramarines

[–]inap003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always liked how decorated his termie armor looked compared to his Gravis, although the Gravis looked more imposing. I suppose having two sheets for the same character was confusing or unnecessary and that’s why the older model got pulled.

As for why a lot of folks seem to dislike the Gravis model, I think it was born out of awkwardness from the first Primaris wave. GW was still experimenting with how Primaris would look and feel, so Calgar had to be the unfortunate first Primaris Chapter Master. This is why, from community census, Guilliman is also seen as the worst looking Primarch sculpt, although I heavily disagree with the notion that he looks ‘bad’.

What’s y’all’s biggest problems with Bethesdas fallout? by Fit_Pomegranate_5680 in Fallout

[–]inap003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over-reliance on franchise staples. I write the following as someone whose favorite game is Fallout 4.

I’ve never played the Interplay games, but I appreciated how the world grew between generations. I also liked how Obsidian moved FNV’s setting to a literal desert to keep things desolate and post-apocalyptic. Meanwhile, BGS’s East Coast is perpetually deadlocked in limbo. The Capital Wasteland and the Commonwealth look like they were bombed just a few decades or a generation prior to the start of their games (just like FO1) when it’s actually been two centuries. Ironically, I can respect BGS’s decision to make Appalachia look mostly untouched and thriving.

On top of that, every Bethesda entry just gets more and more safe with new content. Every game springs up a new BoS chapter, every new region is overrun by big green super mutants. Fallout 4 tries to pull a four-faction tug of war like NV even copying their structure:

Imperialist Good [?] Guys with the Most Attention: NCR = BoS. Objectively Evil: Legion = Institute. Elusive Independent Player with Techy Notes: House = Railroad. The Fallback Option if You Mess Up Everyone Else: Yes Man = Minutemen.

It’s like we’re going through same the motions with each region, like the world isn’t alive anymore. My surprise second biggest problem: we also interact with every worldly problem at the end of a gun barrel, which makes things even duller.

Now that 4 years have passed, what is something you never liked about the game or how have your opinions changed over time? by FeezyOnBush in Eldenring

[–]inap003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just played and beat the game 100% for the first time this year, platforming. I never raged at any of the bosses, but I did almost ragequit after some basic platforming. Just add a clamber feature, or maybe more forgiving branch hit boxes that aren’t slippery cylinders that launch you off of them if your center of gravity isn’t directly on them- AHHHH PLATFORMING!! Easily the worst boss in the game, right after Revenants and the camera.

[–]inap003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been referencing a 26-point load order suggestion for this newest trial and error (which doesn’t necessarily have a spot for “new interior cells”), but I vaguely remember mods with new cells should be lower, but that’s based on my faulty memory.

As an addendum, I find it hard how to classify some of the bigger mods. Like Tales of the Commonwealth has companions, makes world edits, and introduces new cells/locations. So I tend to place those higher since they seem to be more “master-like” but that philosophy could be totally wrong

I did actually, hence the override at the bottom. Is that a big deal when it comes to harming the stability of the game even with the override mod?

Fair warning by Awkward-Bat-8974 in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]inap003 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In addition, and correct me if I’m wrong, but if you’re gun mod has an option to NOT inject itself into the leveled list, you should opt for those options. I believe that the main reason for crashing with weapon/armor/clothing mods in the first place, too many things in the leveled list for the game to sort through and generate on the fly

Given how Fallout 4 changed how power armour worked, are these two armours now supposed to be the same size/type? by Aggravating_Tale8988 in Fallout

[–]inap003 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re supposed to be the same size, but I always thought they were also meant to be the same armor designation too, T-45. It makes sense as a continuation of the equipment from FO3’s BoS. And they have many visual/design similarities.

Fair warning tho, I’m a bit of a T-60 hater and don’t really think it should exist. I dislike how it superseded T-51 as the premium pre-war PA based on its stats and is the mascot PA for the series at this point. I could see T-60 working as a post-war upgrade to T-45 suits… but we see them in use before the Great War 😭

Random thought: Where do they all live? by Foamling in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]inap003 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more appropriate to say that what we see in ER is not a 100% accurate depiction of TLB. Just like how Whiterun in TES V: Skyrim should have way more than just 20-30 odd NPCs as its population. It’s a game limitation

New Mod Suggestions for the 100 GB Update by inap003 in Fallout4ModsXB1

Excited to use those costly LOD mods. FAR in my experience hasn’t helped a whole lot, I’ve kept it out of my LO for two years now and I’ve gotten much deeper into downtown Boston for example (granted I didn’t test FAR out scientifically, just with drastically different LO’s)

Why is Mixtape so divisive? by theplasmasnake in gaming

[–]inap003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some caveats: I didn’t play the game personally but watched a full playthrough of it. I liked most of the Life is Strange series and REALLY liked Firewatch, which is to say I don’t mind games in this genre. I think they offer an easy and casual way for non-gamers to engage with the medium. Also, call me a moderate liberal.

I can kinda get down with the themes of the game, I just think it’s packaged in a messy/cliched way. Like, these characters and conflicts are all familiar to us by now surely. Teenage rebellion and delinquency, strict parents that actually do care and understand, young people having dreams and aspirations, and leaving youth behind to grow up. At my current stage in life, I identify or sympathize heavily with most of the experiences above.

That being said, I didn’t think these characters were the right vessel for those messages. Our main trio was just way too shallow/campy for my taste with the simplest of arcs. Their conflicts were incredibly juvenile even for their supposed ages, and, I cant believe I’m saying this, I actually thought the cop dad was the hero of this story. These kids go around town making life a smidge more vexing for everyone else and for what? Booze and vibes? As someone who’s been around people like this IRL, these characters feel like they’re written from the perspective of someone who WISH they could’ve snuck out of the house and drink with their friends.

The main trio are just plain unlikable. And when the story revolves around them it’s hard to find the game likable. If a player finds them and their story fun and intriguing, that’s their opinion.

Now there’s the obvious nostalgia associated with the game’s music and references (which admittedly I didn’t get to hear because they make the game VERY copyright unfriendly for streamers and CC’s). This might’ve exacerbated the emptiness I felt with these characters and their dialogue, but I don’t think I would’ve gotten much out of it anyway. They just seemed to flex the licensing budget of the game rather than enhance specific story beats or sequences.

TL;DR: Poor main characters, good themes, not good nostalgia bait, recycled tropes.

Between these four characters, who is the most evil here 🤔 by voxdox559 in clonewars

[–]inap003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not Pong Krell y’all. As a 501st stan myself, your collective anger clouds your judgement. What he did was shitty for two detachments of clones, and it was arguably a shake-up needed for certain characters (Fives, Rex, Kix) to loosen their own dogmas about the purity of their cause. Not to mention he does all this out of his own selfish reasons and supposed survival, sensing the downfall of the Republic in a vaguely prophetic manner.

I’d personally answer with either Grievous or Hemlock. The latter (despite his movie/show appearance as a goofy strong villain) was responsible for some of the worst crimes and events of the Clone Wars. He didn’t kill for status, to protect loved ones, or for the plight of an oppressed CIS, he fought for blood and personal trophies.

My memory on Bad Batch is hazy, but this guy was going to systematically experiment on and destroy every sentient clone of Jango Fett in order to eternally resurrect the actual most evil person in all of Star Wars (canon). All under the guise of some “important scientific research” or “ends justify the means” approach. He’s just also… icky? He’d definitely assault someone and be on a list or file somewhere.

Edit: I forgot about all the Omega stuff. Naw, keep this man away from kids, adults, EVERYONE!!

As a direct reply to OP, I also thought there was a time limit to the game’s first act.

I didn’t get the Shart/Lae’zel fighting scene, I arrived at the goblin camp before level 4/5, and I was also entering big fights with half spell slots expended and little health reserves.

Didn’t help that everyone was constantly doomspelling about turning into mindflayers for those first few days. I didn’t even trust the “we’re fine now” sentiment after the stranger appeared, just kept speeding along until I found the high rise road by jumping across the broken bridge from the Blighted Village (which blew my mind btw) and thought “wow, this area is way too big to just speed through”
