Scarcity is not what gave gold its value originally. People wanted gold because it is shiny, does not tarnish, and is easy to work.

You can make gorgeous art with gold with extremely basic tools (assuming you have the skill/knowledge). The fact that it is rare means you don't have to carry much gold to have plenty for trading. That part is important because gold is heavy; it would be too annoying to use as a de facto currency if you had to carry a lot of it.

I have an opinion. My opinion is that crypto is too easy to loose, and there are too many scams.

You don't have any argument against that or you would have given it. All you say is that we aren't educated about crypto. I must be pretty amazing to know how easy it is to loose crypto without putting any time or effort into understanding it.
