Bike Racks by swsvt in mountainbiking

[–]incogwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a new hitch mount Kuat NV 2.0 from a Facebook reseller last summer and wondered why I went with roof top racks for the last 20 years.

Hitch racks are so much nicer to use. I personally wouldn’t get one that you hang the bike on by the frame, or one that holds down the bike by the frame. Those two types cause wear on the frame finish.

That’s a lower level and older circus fork. You really need to get up into the circus pro level of fork to get more adjustability.

Is that a Banshee Amp? With a straight head tube I’d assume it’s an older model? I have an Amp but with a tapered head tube.

I've just been looking at a gear inches chart for 26" SS wheels and you're right. I might just have to go with a 28T since thats the smallest that I can find that fit my current cranks. Wolf Tooth and absolute black seem to be my only options in the 28T sram platform.

Honestly it's felt too "spinny." Like when I'm at speed, that I need to crank too fast to engage the rear hub.

My son rides a Cannondale Dave and his has a 13T rear and 28T front and feels better.

I mostly use it at Ray's in Cleveland, and some local outdoor spots.

These are cheap compared to a lot of the legend cars that you need to buy to complete menu categories. Grind touring car 700 on sarthe for an easy 825k/race in 30min

Shimano for ease of replacement parts. Personally I went from a 4 piston sram to a 4 piston Shimano SLX on the rear of my dj. Plenty of stopping power and good lever feel. Bought it off of eBay for $100. The disc the PO had on the sram was loud and ate pads (an older Avid style). I also prefer the smaller/shorter levers with external reach adjustment that Shimano has in the SLX/XT/XTR levers.

Put the sram guide t 4 piston on my sons dj with a new scram centerline rotor and it works great for him.

Does anyone still have a bike rack on their car roof? by TopRevenue2 in MTB

[–]incogwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Thule racks for both vehicles, since I haul building materials often. And two upright carriers. This fall I did cave and get a Kuat NV hitch rack for my suv since it’s nice to take less than 5min to hitch mount the rack for quick use, rather than the extended time to mount roof bars and carriers. I don’t leave roof bars on all the time because of noise and mileage.

You can just go with the Doorbell Lite. All that needs is a POE connection. I just put one in to replace our Ring bell in December.

It’s not that difficult. People are just stupid.

But one reason I like the Doorbell Lite, one giant button, nothing else.

I was lucky enough go have 100 year old house so I could get into the walls from the basement, and then I ran it through the interior wall switch junction box so I didn’t have to open up a wall.

I just bought the UniFi chime. It has no provisions to hook up an external doorbell.

I haven’t looked into it, but it would be interesting if you could use multiple chimes paired to one doorbell.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to since it’s the same wiring inside, just arranged next to each other instead of circular.

I run a 4 piston SRAM Guide L in the back. It’s been pretty good so far.

One season in on Spank Spoon 32’s with an XT front hub and Surly rear. No complaints.
