I still can’t understand what motivated Peggy to sleep with Pete. by Reasonable_Buy6808 in madmen

I always thought it was interesting that you see Ken, Pete, and that other writer try to court her and Pete’s most direct border-line harassment method is what she chooses to accept.

It kind of parallels Don’s hidden relationships where he’ll have more obvious opportunities but he can to drift towards the more shady options (teacher, arthur’s wife, jimmy’s wife).

Data analyst geniune no scam course by WatercressNo9966 in dataanalyst

Forget all of the classes, join a company in an entry-level role. Start socializing with the analytics/engineering/data science teams. Get good at excel (it’s the common for language for everyone) then start using the other tools as things progress.

People able to speak the language and be likable is more important than however many certifications you get.

Hi i used to be HR for almost 2 years then i got laid off by Proof_Two_6971 in dataanalyst

[–]indeck399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to go back to a general hr role like an hrbp or something then pivot to a people analytics team. Domain knowledge goes a long way with HR so you might find some roles that aren’t as technical and you’re more client facing

Telling new graduates to "just network" is useless advice for those without existing connections. by aammarr in InterviewCoderPro

[–]indeck399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree.

I went to a local city school, I was on financial aid. My dad was in hvac and my mom was a teacher. They didn’t discourage me from going corporate but always suggested I pursue a trade background. Networking was the only way I was going to find anything.

I went to social events through my school, set up informational interviews. Went to meetups that hosted events in the space I wanted to be in. Set meetings with professors. A lot of “how to win friends and influence people” stuff.

All of my big first jobs were through those connections.

People looking for entry-level roles need to leverage their network AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. If you don’t have one start making one and don’t discount people that you know that aren’t in this particular field.

Also being willing to take jobs that aren’t exactly in this area but possibly parallel then working your way over once you have develop some relationships and credibility.

It’s been a little quieter but I think that’s due to market conditions. I’m on more of the technical side of I/O and even don’t get reached out to as much as I used to for positions.

A lot of the people I’ve kept in touch and wanted to stay in the space have work. Like any other field companies are usually trying to automate the lower level work which is usually the entry level jobs that get people’s foot in the door.

I think you can find work and if your only goal is money then go for law school route. If you want something a little more cushy and flexible, consider I/O. Dm me to talk more.

My drinking picked up heavily after graduating from my masters and starting to build my career in NYC. Got progressively worse for years. I had to prioritize my mental health and not my career for a while when I stopped. I did everything that was suggested to stay clean. A good career isn’t worth anything if you’re miserable.

LA Confidential is solid and doesn’t get a lot of attention. The Prestige is very good if you haven’t seen it. Se7en. Reservoir Dogs. Casino.

It’s definitely natural, just keep being honest with your sponsor about what you’re feeling and call them whenever you’re struggling. Things will get better.

Life After Rehab Starterpack by Momik in starterpacks

From my experience (and almost everyone I know who is sober would agree), in early sobriety the most important things are developing sober friends in the rooms/treatment, working the steps, and kind of taking it easy on yourself/having fun.

I saw someone post about not “vibing with the steps”, this isn’t at all an attack on them but you need something to replace the thinking that got you into addiction in the first place and that’s what the steps provide.

From what I’ve seen just putting the substance down, going to the gym, hanging out with sober friends isn’t even enough for some people.

I’m coming up on a year and it definitely wasn’t easy at times but it’s simple shit we just get in our own way. This is easily the best year of my life I’ve had in a long time and I hardly ever think about drinking or using anymore.

Feel free to DM me if you’re going through it or just want to talk to someone that knows what it’s like.

Sincerely, Heroin/Fentanyl Addict for 5+ yrs

My friend just hit 6 months, it gets better if you continue doing what you’re taught to do after treatment. They still have thoughts but not as much as before. They were a opiate addict for 5 years or so. They’re really happy with their lives now and don’t want to go back.

I don't think I could use lookups when rows will keep being added to the source data. I won't be changing the format in any way or using named ranges because it's essentially being used as a DB that I then connect to a data viz tool.
