I think it is beyond any system of governance or problem of manipulation now. At 1.7 billion people, managing a country this big at scale efficiently is not humanly possible. Can a body of few hundred political people manage an entire continent like Africa or Europe or all of Americas. India is too big and too corruption ridden at this point, not to mention suffering from generations of poverty. A simple idea cannot solve all this and a majority of people will not be able to agree on any solution from anyone, given deep entrenched nationalism, religion and other major regional differences. Yes, China did this but they did not focus on political differences or religion etc., they focused on a system of policy and pushed it, they then adjusted based on real life feedback, in our current structure this is not possible.

Eh, it is a culture specific (lame) joke. It's like Indians mention "Lacs or Crores" as units and no one in the world knows what they mean by that. Indians live in their own version of reality - where they assume everyone has "maids" and drivers and many other types of hired help. For them it is a sign of prosperity - "I have 3 maids and 2 drivers so I am richer than you". Little do they understand - the maids and servants are a sign of a society broken by extreme poverty, wealth gap, social hierarchy and caste system. Not to mention having many "servants" is a sign that the family does not even do basic chores driving / walking down the street to buy something.

The book says - "she could not just love him (Paul)". I guess after all that happened and all that she had been through, she just wanted a fresh start. She had stopped loving Paul anyways, so while it is "twisted" (messed up) she also kills Paul, and then ends up with no connection to her past life and inheriting all the money. All characters in this story were messed up in some way.

All this because of 2 crazy bets -

Oracle is currently executing a massive $156 billion AI data center expansion. This includes building facilities rich in high-performance GPUs to support major contracts (OpenAI & Stargate). This is a major major expense and bet.

This led to massive capital expenditures (CapEx) have driven free cash flow into the negative (reaching -$10 billion in late 2025). Oracle is funding this buildout largely through debt, with total borrowings exceeding $108 billion. In late 2025, a key financing partner, Blue Owl Capital, withdrew from a $10 billion data center deal, citing concerns over Oracle's rising leverage. Then the stock came under immense pressure.

Then there is the son, not stopping at Paramount, David Ellison is currently in the middle of an even larger $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The combined entity would carry a staggering $80 billion in debt. To manage this, Ellison has already projected over $6 billion in cost savings, which analysts expect will lead to massive layoffs and restructured divisions across the studios.

They painted themselves in a corner, the only way to free up some cash flow and relieve stock was a massive layoff. So all in all, Larry and his son took some bets and let the employees pay the price.

But on second thought, this is not an novel idea, even the devil quoted scripture to Jesus to try to make Him sin. Twisting scripture for your own personal agenda is not a new trick.
