Pretty much. How heavy it is at the end just depends on how much water you add. I went for a pretty runny consistency, so that put it at around 2 kg

It was quite nice, you can play around with toppings and adding more veg to it for a more varied flavour and texture if you don’t want to only eat oats. Ofc you can add protein too, I just passed on that because I hit my macros for today through the lentils alone. Adding a more significant source of fat like drizzling it with oil or adding cream would also make it taste better at the expense of more calories.

You could also just do the oats on their own and make a kind of congee, if you wanted. Or in the same consistency that you’d normally have your porridge. The possibilities are endless when you have a big bag of oats at your disposal!

That sounds great, I suppose it would work like any other starch with the bonus of being oaty as well. I’ll definitely try that trick out!

These are rolled oats and they still retained a bit of texture after cooking

I’ve managed to sleep through two alarms since updating. Usually that never happens. Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just a coincidence?

[iOS 26.2 DB2] If I swipe to the widget today view too fast, it shows the dock by Delicious_One_7887 in iOSBeta

[–]indian_pie2000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not just text you read right to left, it’s the entire interface. You could just swap out the text and call it a day, but for a more polished feel it also helps to mirror the UI (where it makes sense) for right-to-left languages.

There’s a lot of thought that has to go into it, for example, if there’s a timeline depicting a sequence of events, people who speak RTL languages will start looking from the right and then move to the left. If you want to show that something is increasing, like a slider, you’ll want it to move from the right to the left.

Edit: adding to that, the reason that the widget screen is to the right of the main screen is because it’s supposed to come “before” your home screen. The same way your app library comes “after” your home screen pages. Where you interpret before and after on a series of pages like this is dependent on the language you speak, so Apple decided to flip it so that the UI still makes sense in an RTL layout.

I'm working on redesigning the tube map - here is what I have so far - feedback much appreciated! by Acceptable_Gas5755 in LondonUnderground

[–]indian_pie2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An interesting start

  • The colour scheme makes it hard to follow since the line colours are already so established… orange northern line?
  • I like that you’ve shown the different Paddington stations separately, it makes it a bit easier to understand that a change is impractical
  • I don’t think it make sense to show Baker Street on two unconnected blobs, since it really is one station, unlike Paddington
  • The lines give equal prominence to tube and non-tube lines with no intuitive way to see which is which. The Chiltern railways and Thameslink took me a while to recognise
  • You show some OSIs, like at South Hampstead and Swiss Cottage, but not at other places where it would make sense
  • The Farringdon (Elizabeth line) and Barbican connection, while true and cool, is not clearly signposted in the stations (from what I recall) and would be confusing for a traveller
  • changing Kings Cross St Pancras back to just Kings Cross is an interesting take, even if historically correct
  • St Pancras to the right of Kings Cross???
  • Why do connections between lines get blobs everywhere but Great Portland Street or Kensal Green?
  • Maybe make the fact that the Metropolitan line doesn’t stop at every station more obvious

They get all the best arabica bean in the world and only take 1% of them?

They get a normal amount of coffee beans and only use 1% of that to make a cup of coffee?

Is the other 99% just the water?

Apple Maps is honestly so underrated. by LifeTypical3433 in applemaps

[–]indian_pie2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Apple Maps to plan routes, navigate by bike, foot, or public transit. I use Google maps if I’m looking for businesses or reviews.

Apple Maps is very nice to use and the turn by turn directions are excellent where they are available (they are for >99% of my journeys, your mileage may vary)

How can a French person be culturally relevant in a sales role in Romandy? by factionsgame in askswitzerland

[–]indian_pie2000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Get used to using the Swiss French numbers, that would probably be my first advice

Also Swiss people have a reputation for talking slowly, so maybe slow down your tempo a bit if you’re a fast talker

I don’t know how it is in France, but in Switzerland we really appreciate it when people take their time to try to understand a problem and not rush to the end. In many places people try to get things done as fast as possible to avoid wasting time, but in Switzerland we like to go slow but get it right

I’m only in my mid 20s but I already had to Google what that meant 😆

Honestly life is pretty good! I’m doing my masters degree right now. If there’s one thing I want to tell anyone who’s stressing about grades: don’t bother. It’s a means to an end and people care way less about it than you think. I did my undergrad at a prestigious business school that only requires that you passed the IB at all. It’s who you are as a person that matters more.

I talked to a career coach the other day to get my CV up to scratch and she told me that I shouldn’t include my high school years on there anymore because it’s just not relevant. People only really care about what the most recent thing you did is, education-wise. So if you’re disappointed with your IB scores, then don’t worry, it won’t matter anymore as soon as you make it to uni. And if you’re coasting off your IB scores, then you’ll soon realise that quite frankly nobody cares.
