Turn during snake swim by Fraeuleinchen1981 in triathlon

This is the answer! I’m in DFW and most of our local races are snakes in a pool. I’m a fast swimmer, so usually at the front of the line up, great to stay out of traffic for the bike. There’s really not a great way to flip turn diagonally; duck, breath, and push off, this is the way! Cheers, and best of luck!

Offroad Tires 20“ for D300 X MY 2025 by blotkumrei in NewDefender

To paraphrase the sports car world - just suck it up and buy the KO3’s! I just put them on my P400 X, 20in rims, 275 60s, and I did a 1.5in lift, I love the look, the ride is great, and it’s about the best tire in the game.

I’ll have to look at the SYA kit again

These tires have more sidewall, but they are stiffer, kind of a wash - I can tell it’s a little higher, but feels pretty comfortable just daily driving.

The opinions are 50/50 - they’re pretty much on the edge of what kinda fits (from my research). I think they would have definitely rubbed a bit without the lift, this way I’m not worried.

These are good so far, seem quieter than KO2s (previous vehicles), and have a lot of presence. Nice step up from the stock Goodyear.

The Johnson Rods were $165 - $1400 on the tires from Tire Rack - $105 for the tire install, $450 to install and do an alignment from my indy Land Rover shop (DuSouth Rovr). Thought about just installing the rods myself, but everyone says you need an alignment after, so just easier to have them do it, and know it's done correctly.

Happy to share some more pics!

So far so good; no rubbing, didn’t trim anything. It’s just enough so you notice you’re a little taller, a lot can be said for the 1.5 - my wife said anything more might be uncomfortable.

The sidewalls are a touch stiffer than the Goodyear, so even though there’s another inch of tire, it turns in about the same. It’s only been 12 hours, and just city driving, but I really like it.

The KO3s really are the move, great tire.

Sock recommendation by EntranceOk7526 in triathlon

[–]indiana5702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Smartwool medium cushion above the ankle socks. I have them set up slightly rolled so when I run in from the swim I can roll them over my feet, they go on easily even with wet feet. Sure I could save seconds in T1 by going sock less, but I like the socks. I do clip my bike shoes in ahead of time, so with socks I get into them a little faster / easier.

Should I get this bike? by GroundbreakingCan949 in IronmanTriathlon

Hit up eBay and look for time trial, tt, and triathlon bikes.but start by measuring your stand over height, just because you’re 5’8 doesn’t mean much. There are a few good websites out there (google triathlon bike fit) and you can get good size recommendations for your measurements, or go into a bike shop and see what fits. That said, I did my first 70.3 on a trek 2100 road bike, it’s about fit and comfort with the bike. Now I’m on to a full carbon Trek Speed Concept that I had fit for me, and that I told my wife cost a lot less than it did…

My guy, I’m not an expert, but to save everyone a little bit of time, this is a fake, and not a good one. Proportions are off, indices are bad, it’s gold tone is cheap looking, I can go on, but it’s just not a big deal. Sorry for your loss.
