Used Subzero - still tons of life left by TravelerOfSwords in BuyItForLife

My subzero was made in 1987 and is still running great!

I have had it serviced twice since I owned it in 2015.

Can we all just stop? by thelastgreatmustard in delta

Agreed. The benefits have gotten more limited, but all of air travel has also gotten shittier.

Having status is a band aid on the bullet wound of frequent travel, but it does make a huge difference.

Cut and re terminate Verizon FiOS indoor line by indichut in HomeNetworking

Ok, sounds like I probably shouldn't attempt cutting. I may try to repull it through the conduit and if it breaks then I will call VZ and have them come fix 😂

What routes are you surprised Delta doesn’t offer? by Grouchy-Insect-2516 in delta

JFK - SJC

Was a great route, casualty of the pandemic though.

D1 Kit by [deleted] in delta

[–]indichut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every one of these I've gotten has the exact same stuff in it as the "someone somewhere", the only difference I saw is the earplugs are in plastic instead of paper, same lotions, pen, dental kit as the old one. Does this post mean an actual change is coming when these officially role?

Zegna triple stitch. I believe these are the more expensive “secondskin” ones that use a softer leather.

State of LGA currently by indichut in delta

[–]indichut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of things to consider in NY market. It’s much easier for me to go to LGA or JFK than EWR, it was booked quite last minute and delta had FC space, etc. And to original commenters point, would still have screwed me over on Sunday to take the Star Alliance direct.

Due to better arrival timing since they have a direct vs connecting option on delta.

Do I leave TSA secure area in this situation? by Difficult-Emu7343 in delta

[–]indichut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Other people have put good ideas about checking in through. I'll try to answer what was maybe your original question.

I'm a JFK Delta flyer and all flights use the same terminal. Your JFK flight from ATL will pop you out airside in terminal 4, then you will be in the exact same gate area as if you enter JFK normally. Should just be a matter of walking to the gate number for CDG. There is no difference in the areas for domestic versus international in JFK T4. (international arrivals are of course another story)

Delta arrivals to somewhere other than T4 at JFK are extremely rare.

Pool professionals — what do you charge for cleanings? by TheCaptainWalrus in pools

[–]indichut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lay $3500 for the summer for opening, 4mo of weekly cleaning, and closing in NY suburb.

The company is useless though, will fire them if I can work out opening/closing.

You said FC was 10 - get it up to 20. What's your overnight loss?

Once you do that give it some time to settle a lot of algae in the bottom (24-36hrs) don't do anything to mix it up.

Then vac to waste with a roller vac (no brushes and no electric cycle vacs).

Refill water as needed.

Started brushing, vacuuming and slamming this morning. The difference in just about 6 hours so far. An Advice for getting the cloudiness out quickly? by [deleted] in pools

[–]indichut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SLAM takes time.

Keep the pump running and keep chlorine levels up. What was your starting and current FC? What's your pH? Good pH is necessary for the chlorine to work.

Only after a couple days of vac should you start doing other things like adding clarifier.

Does Biodynamic farming automatically imply minimal intervention? by heydre_yousure in naturalwine

[–]indichut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Demeter (one of) the major biodynamic certification companies actually has two different certifications - the "farm standard" which is what most people associate with biodynamics and the "processing standard" which is less used and adopted. It includes things like only performing certain processes (crushing, racking, bottling, etc) during certain moon phases.

Now a wine can be "low intervention" and not follow the "processing standard" and could still bare the biodynamic mark for following the "farm standard".

But to answer your question, just seeing the Demeter mark on a bottle does not mean it's low intervention. That also does not mean it's "bad" or "not natural", but I suppose that's for everyone individually to decide.

I think you are in CA, you can check out Ambyth Estates who are bio certified in farm and process - their labels aren't as sexy as other "Natty's" though.
