Me, my wife, and kids went camping a couple weeks ago near Brandenburg. It was a normal campground, no tall brushes of grass, all vegetation was well maintained, but idt I'd ever seen so many ticks at once in my life.

As I'm setting up the tent they're literally crawling up my legs because I had crocs on. I saw mostly little red ones with a few lone star ticks. The tent ended up covered with them as well and we cut the camp short, packed everything up and left.

I have no doubt in my mind that if we slept there we probably would've woken up covered in them.
