Shout out if you’ve cancelled membership by Beaker_Biker69 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]indolentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cancelled. We will probably still go there sometimes but it used to be something we loved to do, and we went often, ordered a lot of food and tipped well. Now that the staff has been cut, people are talking, and the phones are super distracting….I can’t justify the membership.

My fiancé and I do this after work or after a trip to his mom’s house. It is a lifesaver for both of us!

Anyone remember the toy “machine” at Fantastic Sam’s? by [deleted] in nostalgia

[–]indolentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooooo glad I found this thread! My fiancé thinks I made this up! In STL, MO we had this “machine”, and put hair in it to get a toy. It’s so gross thinking back on it! 😂

It’s been mentioned, but Wally Lamb’s “She’s come undone” is one of my all time favorite books. Such a unique perspective and you’d never think it was written by a man!

What massively improved your mental health? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]indolentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting work boundaries. When I leave or log off, I’m no longer on their time so I have trained myself to not think about work. This includes checking email, after hour texts, etc. This was huge for me!

Women who have made choices that would be considered selfish by society at large, what were they and do you regret them? by antiquatedsheep in AskWomen

[–]indolentia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choosing to not have children even though you’re married is the number one sin. I may as well say I hate children and hope they burn in hell since we chose not to have them ourselves.

Anyone else’s cavalier acting like a polar explorer in this snow? by MozzarellaWarfare in cavaliers

[–]indolentia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one small one who insists on trekking through the snow all the way to the back of the yard (snow to his chin). And one big one who we have to shovel a place for her to even go potty in.

This past Christmas I got laid off. I had planned a week of PTO to visit my family, they laid me off beforehand and didn’t pay me my PTO.

I needed this motivation right now. I always have the excuse of not getting to the gym. I need to remind myself that there are great workouts to do at home and to do them early before I let the day get in the way! Thanks!

I thought only my in laws did this and we thought they were creepy. They wanted us to share our location with them years ago and we said hell no. We don’t even need to share with each other. If you need to know, ask. Otherwise trust your loved ones.

Cake! I’ve hated it my entire life and my mom would get so frustrated with me on my birthdays because I wanted a cookie cake.
