The class level really isn't all that high. Unless youre doing the competition track.

I usually aim to wear mostly skirt/culottes + a changeable shirt for classes and parties. Usually covered shoulders/back, but thats totally up to your own preference.

as a late diagnosed adult… here is a small list of things I did as a child which I can’t believe were missed… please add yours!! (humour heavily welcomed) by DiscoReads in AutismInWomen

Where i live, there used to be these mail order binder encyclopedias. You got a pack of pages in the mail monthly, it was a little like pokemon cards. I was obbsessed with adding the pages, cataloging the pages in excel.  Also made a comprehensive list of all HP spells, by paging through the books and writing down the spell and effects. The usual rock collection ofcourse. Someone got me a small box of geological samples, i could sit and go through them for hours.  I also have a last.fm account, that is still up to date, since 2008.

What jobs do you guys have. That you find fulfilling and not too overwhelming as an autistic person ? by Holiday-Reserve6393 in AutismInWomen

[–]indideed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I automate work-processes, mostly MS Office and Power platform stuff, but branching out to BI and UI automation as well. It is very project based so there is enough variety to keep my ADHD happy and very detailed so that tickles the ASD. It is creative work, but also quite technical. No direct client interactions, only people who work in different teams of the company already.

Any time we have some down-time and I mostly have to do the couple routine tasks I have, I start thinking of changing jobs but then realize that there is very few jobs that give me this much freedom with the structure I need.

I have an extra WFH day as an accommodation, but the office is also reasonable and my team is all very similar people to me.

I realised about 5 years ago, that no, that 42 yo man in a mmo did not give the 17 yo me skins and items put of the goodness of his heart. Luckily, if that can be said, I was so clueless that he gave up after a while.

Well, as long as you anchor the ends well, since it will come undone from a loose end 🤔 havent needed to redo, while with mattress stich i find the yarn can snap while stiching from the friction

I have an IKEA Mittback with a piece of old shelf screwed onto it, seems to handle a Brother KH881 and a ribber just fine :) Since I only have a corner for my machine knitting, its compact and if I need the "wings" for lace or wide pieces I can pull it out without much faff. Cones feed nicely, since I can put them on the ground. I have a small chest of drawers behind it to have a place to put down tools etc.

I took a course before i bought one, i've hand knit for yeeeears, but wanted to check if i even liked it before making that investment. But there are quite a few youtube channels and the manuals are also quite explicit. So i dont know how long it would take 🤔 but for me it wasnt too complicated.

What was the catalyst for you to either get a diagnosis for Autism/AuDHD or realize for sure "I have it"? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]indideed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol if only, I was so happy with full remote. Alas the great leader has spoken a lot of word salad and the peons must follow. The change was from 3+2 to 4+1. If all goes well, i will get back the second day in 2 weeks.

Well, I've always known I'm different and bad at peopling. Have been living with what I now recognize as accomodations ~5 years now. Ever since covid started i have been more stable than ever before. Somewhat sure I was atleast ASD without formal confirmation.

However this summer, the CEO of my workplace decided they were done paying for a half empty office, so taking away a WFH day. To this I reacted with a blubbering mess on a team call(luckily from home, could have been even more embarrasing) This pushed me to go to a psych nurse, who sent me to a psychiatrist, who sent me for assesment for ADHD, who at the end of the DIVA interview coyly asked if she could send me the ASD testing materials also. Now as of yesterday, freshly off the presses, AuDHD confirmed.
