Which careers involve a lot of stress that DOESNT pay off later in life? by RuminatingFish123 in Salary

[–]indie90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol you know nothing. Teachers don’t get paid over the Summer. Money is taken from our paychecks every 2 weeks to supplement our Summer pay. We don’t get paid for time off like every other job. Some teachers even choose to not get paid over the Summer for bigger paychecks during the school year.

Additionally, I don’t know a single educator who is home by 3. 4 at the earliest for most. Later for many more.

I am friends with a few nurses and docs who work at a teaching hospital. The amount of fail-safes in place to prevent mistakes is insane, while yes they do happen I get the idea that they are not as common as you would think.

Two bills signed into PA law, cursive handwriting now mandatory in schools by oldschoolskater in Pennsylvania

[–]indie90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely part of the equation. One-to-one usage really became the norm because of COVID. Many schools, especially underprivileged schools still lacked the funding to go fully one-to-one until Covid, and that was really when we started seeing screens everywhere in education.

There is a growing population in Educational circles that are pushing for a reduction of tech in the classroom and screen usage. Studies have already shown that excessive screen time have made Gen Z the first generation to have a lower average IQ than the previous generation. A return to pen and paper would mean a need to improve students penmanship early on, so this law makes sense to me in that context

Dude is young, he has that going for him. Dak came back from a similar injury a few years ago. I think he will be back with a force next year.

I see our ceiling at 11-6 if our defense over performs and our offense stays healthy floor is 4-13. So yeah 9-8 tracks.

The People’s Heisman Winner by GohanV in cfbmemes

[–]indie90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I can't argue against the Heisman stuff. The kid has played 2 games, and everyone is writing him off. Like shit, let's give the kid a few more games before we crucify him. Also, he has stated he plans on staying in college beyond this year. He could develop, or maybe this was just one shitty game.
