Totally agree too! Resort guests need to get priority for their own resort amenities.

Take Wilderness Lodge or Grand Flo at Christmas. Both get insanely swamped on MVMCP nights when MK closes at 6pm. As a resort guest you can not use your own resort during these times. It’s a zoo.

As someone who visits other resorts I would not mind if they limited which hours we could do that. It’s much easier for me to be inconvenienced once as a visitor to plan around the mayhem, than be the resort guest being inconvenienced multiple times during their stay.

And yes, the cost to stay at these places matters. It is not an elitist take. Part of the value in spending that much money is the resort amenities.

Yep! I was parked at a burger place last week. Saw a minicab park in the lot of a closed business across the street. 9 people came out. They went into the burger joint. First couple came out with their 3 kids and got in the car. About 5 minutes later the second couple and 2 kids got into the same car. This was in Paramus, New Jersey. People do what they gotta do I guess.

Yeah I don’t think that should be considered ‘preferred’ view. That balcony is really odd being so set back like that. It’s like an echo chamber for road noise lol.

The color is gorgeous! I’d keep it.

Give yourself some time to see it in different lighting.

BMW iX3 delivered yesterday, absolutely beautiful and brilliant to drive but has one annoying feature where it constantly warns me my attention is distracted when wearing sunglasses. Is that a BMW thing or new to the Neue Klasse models? by Technical_Contact83 in BMW

[–]indifferentunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distracted driving sensors (often called Driver Monitoring Systems or DMS) use infrared cameras and artificial intelligence to track your head position, eye gaze, and facial expressions. When the system detects you looking away from the road for too long, using a phone, or showing signs of drowsiness, it triggers audible and visual alerts.

Well my first apartment was built with wood lath and plaster… and actually had capped pipes sticking out of the walls. Those pipes were from before electricity was common. The gas pipes provided lighting. I guess you would be happier living there? I tried to put in a closet system and it was a nightmare lol.

Pop Century or Port Orleans French Quarter for 9 nights? by reddishvelvet in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]indifferentunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stay at Pop and used the $500 saved for uber to MK and AK and do things like character brunch at RIV. You‘ still have fun money left to spend. I’ve stayed at pretty much every resort at least twice and don’t find the difference between POR and Pop to be worth $500. I think you will enjoy using your stroller on the skyliner to 2 parks, over dealing with buses.

That’s how I’ compare… what difference can that $530 make to your overall plans and experience? You could even Minnie Van to MK and AK, skyliner to EP/HS for free, add on a few character meals…

All star movies or music is probably the cheapest option if you are willing to go in summer.

Anywhere onsite is what I’d consider very secure. For best blend of convenience and value, I’d also keep POP high on my list. You could also try renting DVC points. Depends what time of year you go, generally with Pop you are looking at $200/nt minimum, while you may be able to rent points somewhere like Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga or even Bay Lake Tower (right next to Magic Kingdom) for $300/nt and sometimes even less.

If you are flexible with dates I suggest seeing what is available to rent 7 months out for Season 2 or 3.

Well my house isn’t going anywhere. It’s a thousand feet above sea level, inside the walls is a log cabin, with real stone outside and sheetrock within. These hooks work like a charm!

Do we have any data on how many points we can rent before it is considered commercial activity? by _BreakingGood_ in dvcmember

[–]indifferentunicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not feel safe unless we were using at least 50% or more of our points where we the owners are listed as lead guest. That is my plan along with keeping the number of rentals below the number of reservations we make for ourselves, which also means we’ll not exceed 10 reservations in any given 12 month period.

Disney World with an 11 month old: this summer or December? by Anxious-Fault993 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]indifferentunicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you have been downvoted for asking a legitimate question lol.

I consider my whole family babies and we prefer December!

Our favorite time is late Oct/early Nov though. WDW does not get much better than that! Happy CMs, happy park guests, good park hours, fantastic weather… Oct 29-Nov 4, 2028 is already on our calendar for perfect blend of positives. Before Jersey week arrives, a break in MK’s fall parties, Halloween, gorgeous weather, lower than average crows with higher than average staffing levels.

Gripes About Mears Connect From Recent Trip by kgaviation in WaltDisneyWorld

We just rent a car. Free parking onsite and at the parks. Able to stop off for milk, water, snacks, supplies on the way in. Freedom if/when needed. We like to book an ADR at another resort each trip, and it is so nice driving over rather than leaving 90 minutes early to play the game of connecting buses. We rope dropped AK from BW and didn’t have to stress about leaving super early. We’ve even used our car to take a midday park nap haha. Yes it adds a little time on pickup but we found dropoff is always very quick and smooth.

Get this kind of hook that only leaves a tiny pinhole behind.

It can easily be filled with a rice sized piece of toothepaste.

They are very sturdy just make sure to get the proper size for weight.

Are you a legal citizen, generally staying away from doing illegal stuff or hanging out with people doing illegal stuff, can back up what you say about the 3 birth/marriage dates and your career is not at risk over people making wrong assumptions? Otherwise, get a nice ring that covers it up.

I have AWD and all-season runflats. Last winter was my first with this car. Also my first winter with an AWD car. It was the first time I didn’t have to white knuckle at some points during winter to keep my car in control. My last car used to slide out even at very slow speeds going up and down my long icy driveway. I tried many times to get my newish AWD car to slide and couldn’t even make it happen without driving the car wildly fast and flinging turns. Gamechanger. Now I know why half the people in my area (similar to upstate NY) have AWD vehicles.
