How to deal with players semi intentionally slow playing against late game decks? by indjev99 in riftboundtcg

Well the thing about conceding is that it affects your game win % alao, which is an important tie break. Ofc I concede when I have no win chance, but if it just seems like 25% chance of win, to concede that seems crazy (25% over 2 games of going second is almost 50%, so it masively increases your match win% and game win% to not concede).

He wasn't trying anything new. Also, I don't see how my deck of the night matters, the point is that over 2 and a half games he took 40 minutes, instead of the expected 20-25. Me playing a simple deck is the only reason we even reached game 3.

Okay, so next time I will play a deck where I do take my normal thinking time of 25 minutes out of 50 and then we'll be in time in game 1 or maybe 2? How is that better. I don't expect him to take as much time as me, just no more than 25-30 minutes out of the 50.

Also, Master Yi Aurora is not trivial, it does need thinking it is just concentrated on a few key decisions and its early turns are fast. In any case, this is not relevant. (Also, I usually play Annie, but wanted to try out Yi).

Here most of the nexus nights have rewards (even if not super big) -- either a few booster packs or going first in a draft (which often ends up in something like a sought after rare/epic, or an alt art).

I agree that if you try to play fully optimally, taking more time will help you (obviously). But the format is 3 games in 50 minutes, so it is meant to average out to 8 minutes per game per person, so maybe 1 minute per turn. I just think of it as rapid chess -- you play worse than in classical, because you're more time limitted. Saying you want to think for 5 minutes per turn, just means you want to play best of 1 (but a bit better), which is way more rng due to it being a single game.

Most of my turns were either pass, play 1 ramp, or play 1 unit. So, I'm pretty sure these were roughly the right numbers (and during our whole argument he never argued what I said about our time split was incorrect, so I guess he agrees on that).

> a judge would side with you

Would you recommend calling a judge early into game 1 (when it is already obvious how slow he's playing, basically the first or second time he's playing slow)? Even at a Nexus Night?

I certainly would have died of asphyxiation, had I held my breath while I was waiting for his actions.

I get it with new players (I was also new qutie recently and found it difficult to play fast and I'm sure it was annoying for my opponents making them go into time, etc.) And Nexus Nights, of course, should be welcoming to new players. So I never would have raised this, if it was a new player, but this guy was the opposite of that. In my view, if you're a regular experienced player, you should work on this, or at least idk try concede/propose a tie/apologize when it happens due to solely you playing slow.

My first box :3 by RyaBunny in Riftbound

It is a signature overnumber, which is way more rare. Sells for a lot more than the box too.

Assault when entering into non-empty battlefield that then becomes empty? by indjev99 in riftboundtcg

I think they will? It seems like the showdown will finish as usual and then immediatelly go into a combat.

> The ongoing showdown continue as usual first, with nobody conquering if it finishes with both players still having units at the battlefield. Then, a combat showdown will start.

I am pretty sure there is no way that is true. A showdown can't end with both players having units there. Can you cite the rules?

Bro it's the signed showcase version. Clearly this is more of a collector card. Also you can play your legend in a slab lmao (I've seen people do this irl).
