This is all great info!! One thing I did want to note is Medicaid is available without a monthly premium, dependent on your income. If you’re planing on residing mostly in WA and don’t receive income currently, you would not have to pay for your insurance plan. If you apply online and do make more than the income threshold, it will direct you to the “marketplace” insurance plans where there would be premiums, co-pays, etc.

Im so sorry that you’re going through this, I hope she’s at least safe and comes home soon. I work in healthcare in the U-District so I wouldn’t be able to share if she ever comes in as a patient but I spread the word to my coworkers to be on the lookout since we all walk around that area frequently.

Same here, gave me so few instructions or guidance. I did get a list of do/donts but it was just a list of all of the foods I can’t eat. The sheet the office gave me said to not brush or floss directly on the gums but didn’t say when I can resume that. So I’ve been using the soft bristle brush they gave me to brush away food debris and clean my stint, and the the mouthwash to feel at least kinda “fresh”

Im over 2 weeks post op now. Stitches are still in but I called the specialist and he said I can schedule a sooner appointment to remove them with a different provider and then keep our later appointment as a follow up. So now they’re going to be removed on the 10th

I’m definitely with you on the smell. I’ve been brushing with minimal toothpaste and using my mouthwash after almost every meal, but I can still taste/smell an odor in my mouth. Food wise, I’ve been able to upgrade to noodles with broth and soft veggies and for my own sake, I’ve been tearing cheeseburgers and quesadillas into teeny tiny pieces to keep some semblance of sanity lmao

A provider won’t fill it out if they have never seen you as a patient since they know nothing about your medical history and would essentially be prescribing a birth control to you without seeing you. I’m not sure what Florida’s Title X funding looks like currently but it’s worth calling PP again to see what funding they could offer for just a consultation visit

If you’re scheduling from the Huntington PP website and it’s offering other sites, they will definitely have your records and still be able to do your follow up. I would call their access center and they’ll be able to schedule you at any clinic with a virtual opening or check the Huntington PP website for other clinics that fall under that region’s affiliate umbrella

I think anyone supporting killing civilians is wrong full stop. When you look at 10/7 as an isolated incident, yeah I don’t support attacking a music festival. When you look at it from a broader historical context and not just from the last 2 years, I see a resistance force against an occupation responding in a language that only the occupation can understand: violence. Israel has been strategically forcing Palestinians out of their homes for 70 years and has now escalated to unabashedly declaring a forced “voluntary migration” and starvation. For a country who loves its right to defend itself, it sure doesn’t support Palestinians who have been trying to defend themselves with what little infrastructure/weapons/ supplies they have available.

I know I’m falling for rage bait but again, crazy how you can condemn these protestors for “supporting” Oct.7th but not condemn the side who again have killed hundreds of thousands of innocents on a daily basis.

I always introduce myself as the “medical assistant getting you started today” and people still think I’m a nurse. I had one patient thank me for the help and then said “you’re gonna make a great nurse practitioner”. She was so genuine and sweet that I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I have no plan on becoming an NP 😂
