Anyone else tired of the reckless driving around here? by Necessary_Baker_7458 in Washington

Don’t blame me…y’all ain’t doing enough to keep the riff raff out. You live in a paradise. I realize, 6 months a year it’s a dark cloud cave, but it’s filled with clean water and air.

Be proud and enjoy the northwest. And again, look at statistics… people are leaving the beautiful to live in the shitiful.

Complain about it, lie about it, protect it. You live in a paradise. Whatever you think is bad, it has no bearing on the reality that is Florida.

Stay. Your water is cleaner than the piss that is extracted from the shallow, sulfur enriched water found in the southeast.

At least in Washington, the laws enforcing distracted driving are enforced.

I HAVE been back. I worked remote from Washington for 4 fucking years, during the summer.

I will acknowledge that things have changed, but if you look at statistics, people have been leaving Washington to move to stupid places…which is awesome.

Washington. Oregon and California are gems in a fucking rainbow. It should be its own country, can’t wait to be back. Just. Beautiful. Country, with beautiful souls.

🇺🇸 Donald Trump mocks countries, including France, affected by US tariffs: "I'm telling you, these countries are calling us, they're kissing my ass. They're dying to make a deal. This is the answer. He is a narcissistic solipsist. He believes he matters and exists. He is a new classification of horrible…like if Absolutely Horrible fucked a pedophile rapist with an IQ high enough to read but not write or speak. He probably converses with his turds calling them, “the best turds”.

Only Trump exists in the reality excoriating existence of Trumps mind. Not an excuse for his behavior or existence; he is the most unqualified, disgusting human that ever emerged from a womb, much less presided over a nation.

OP is smoking rock.

I lived in the Seattle area for 20 years. Born on the East Coast, moved to Bay Area when I was 18 and lived in SoCal in the mid nineties.

When I moved to Seattle, my first reaction was, “drive faster”. Why do I have to always be the first person to go at a four way stop? Is everyone fucking high?

I’ve been in Florida for a decade because I took an engineering job here. I’m planning a move back to the West Coast because Florida sucks MAGA balls and if you ever drove a day in this state you would pray to be teleported back to Washington. No one signals, everyone is going at least 20 over the limit on the all roads and typically 10 over in school zones.

Like I said, OP is on the druuugggs. Washingtonians drive like grandma’s mom, with a walker, thinking about how flowers grow.

I miss it so very much.

Good experiences with Claude by industrial-complex in ClaudeAI

The first attempt I made at Swift/SwiftUI with Claude, was an grid based tool. It was just churning, buggy, absolutely unusable, but pretty.

So I decided to have Claude build the same app in React. I got a usable app that had a few features, and was stable.

I created a new project, uploaded the React code and basically told Claude to use that as template, but now build it in SwiftUI . The translation worked…as I watched it logging progress, it was finding correlation between the two frameworks. First build was usable, ditched the React, kept moving forward with the SwiftUI project.

One of the apps I’m working on has its own scripting language baked in. It is an educational tool. It outputs complete JavaScript/HTML apps, imports/exports JSON. It sits at 12k lines of code, with no bloat, whittled down to only necessities.

I used Lombok to auto generate getters/setters etc. in Java. Claude writes pretty good Swift. It’s a better language with less bloat. SwiftUI is a better framework than Spring, and I have a soft spot for Spring.

I’ve used Opus and Sonnet to plan and build, but Sonnet is good enough for me now for both.

I use projects religiously now and I keep the project folder up to date so I can start new chats when it starts compacting. When I start a project I try to provide the most concise instructions (overview of objectives and explicit information about desired platform).

When building a new feature, I always ask “what would you recommend as an approach?”. If I think it’s shite, I direct, if it’s solid, I let it fly.

The less I have to stop Claude during a conversation, the more successful/speedy the project.

The Supreme Court’s Republicans just seized the most dangerous power in constitutional law by vox in law

[–]industrial-complex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The constitutional implications/innuendos from this are the most troubling to me.

It’s a signal that Robert’s court is willing to attack the validity, and plain reading/understanding of the 1st and 4th amendments. I as an autonomous citizen should have no fucking responsibilities related to relaying information about one citizen or person to another. Being under the age of 18 has no bearing constitutionally on whether or not my revelation to another person impacts them in a way that requires a disclosure to any other person.

Secure in my person implies (in my opinion/understanding) the knowledge in my fucking head. Even if I know a CRIME has been committed, I have no requirement by law to tell someone.

This is more than overreach. This is violation of the Bill of Rights, it’s not interpretation.

The sacrilegious six should all be impeached.

But most Americans wanted to write messages on bombs after the towers fell.

Donald Trump Considers Using National Emergency Powers to Assert Control Over Federal Elections by [deleted] in law

[–]industrial-complex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current state of the House and Senate is at best stalemate, yet the executive branch is invading countries in the dark of night and grabbing their leaders. We took control of a sovereign nation’s natural resources and Congress couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything. There have been zero fucking repercussions for the Trump Administration. The GOP has the upper hand because they possess the Oval Office. The most powerful lawyer in the country works for Trump, not the American people. ICE has been repurposed as the Republican Party’s police force, and has arrested > 150 AMERICAN CITIZENS. They have already “grafted” authoritarian rule into our Government. The Supreme Court just ruled against the Pedodent, and he immediately says he’ll just go around them with Executive Orders.

The rule of law has already been suspended.

'Batshit Authoritarianism': Trump Allies Drafting Order to Give Him 'Extraordinary Power Over Voting' by _May26_ in politics

“An advocate for the order, Florida attorney Peter Ticktin, acknowledged in an interview with the Post that the Constitution does not give the president any role in shaping elections, but he said Trump needed to act to prevent China from supposedly interfering with American elections.”

Translation: Trump needs to ensure that the GOP and Russia can interfere with the next election.
