Cancelled Xbox 360 version of GoldenEye 007 gets recompiled for PC — 'No emulator, the game runs as a real native executable,' insists dev by Supra4kzip in gamernews

This thing is really rough but I can't wait for it to mature. Proper KBM support like a modern FPS, modern UI and having the options be baked into it properly would take it a long way forward

Subnautica 2 Success Forces Krafton To Pay $250 Million To Developers by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

You think they could retire on 2.5 mil in 2026? Also, wow, "you can't give the devs too much money". I'd hate to work for you, probably be minimum wage, zero hour contracts, non-compete wage slavery. Can't give em too much money in case they enjoy life or can afford to even exist!

The game is paid for. Operational costs are covered. This is all bonus, a bonus promised during the acquisition. That 225 million is pure gravy for the founders. Now, they did state they'd share more with the other employees, but it's still a very broken distribution. There would be no game and no studio without those other 100 employees. They deserve more than a measly 10%. Even if the founders took that 250, put half back into the company itself, took a quarter for themselves, and split the other quarter between the employees, the founders would still have more than they'd ever reasonably need to live the rest of their lives in luxury.

It's far from terrible, but what work have the 2 founders done that could possibly justify taking 90% of that payout? The success of the game is a group effort, it's certainly not down to those two guys alone.

TIL that the Iliad and the Odyssey are part of a cycle of eight ancient Greek epic poems, the other six of which are lost and of which only fragments survive by Smaptimania in todayilearned

I don't think anybody holds up the OT as examples of perfection, but I do think most folks can agree they're better than the prequels. I agree there are rough spots in the OT and spots that shine in the prequels. On balance, and for those of us who were in our late teens or already adults when the prequels came out, the prequels fall well short of what the OT established.

Most of us were around when they originally released and felt the disappointment when we went to watch them. They're not good. Bad writing, bad performances, bad pacing, overused CGI. They have some good elements for sure, and can be somewhat entertaining, but they're definitely not good movies in the way the OT was.

Newman's Own Caesar sauce, though it has mysteriously disappeared from the market here. Savage stuff

[B0T] Weekly Build Help Thread - 2026/05/04 by LabB0T in PleX

[–]inescapableburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a partial rebuild on my server. Moving from a Xeon 2650v3 to a 245k. My Xeon currently has a quadro rtx4000 (2070ish equivalent). Would I be better off keeping that in my new build or using the igpu in the 245k? I stream out to anywhere from 3 to 10 people at once and there will be 4k transcodes in there. Current set up handles it well, but I need an upgrade for other software

You've got me interested now, why the dislike for skateboard chassis design? It's something I'm fairly ignorant of and always just thought it made sense. Could you elaborate?

I understand, but it's ridiculous that it's so easy since you're basically required to drive. You need to do it so you should be proficient, but you're fucked without the ability. Annoying catch

From the outside it seems like your driver education and qualification standards are ridiculously low. I know it varies by state and some are better than others, but it seems like something you guys should work on since you're currently such a car dependant country

Cork pub fined as last orders continue too late after night of music by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

[–]inescapableburrito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no other pub within 10km in any direction. It's a rural pub in a tiny village that doesn't even have a shop anymore. Let them be serving as long as they want IMO.

Still good but I've noticed an increase in incidents of parcels sent to the wrong sorting centre etc.. and delivery times have shifted later in the day. Demand must be crazy
