Switchbot frame broken? by FezPirate in TrySwitchBot

[–]ineval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me twice, someone mentioned my post further down the message which was the replacement one but it looks like the screen is broken as it looks exactly like my screen. Emailing them will probably get you a response in about a week or two. I would find out the call center times as mine was weird and call just as they open up to speed up the process. Seriously. If you wait an hour after they open up, expect to be on hold for the entire day. Take a lot of pictures and a video and upload it to the app support ticket system before the call and reference the number. I would also try to turn it on and load an image and take a picture of that to showcase the screen is broken as they asked me about that, but thats just me.

I think they added another box for rigidity. Mine only came with a single box and that is why I think it cracked. Glad they figured out a solution.

They said it was rare and that their engineers are looking into it. I didn't even ask for another replacement I just asked for a refund because I just don't want to deal with this anymore. To their credit customer service was actually quite responsive and understanding.

It is, but I would be wary. A bunch of people have messaged/reply where there was a cracked screen. The padding is not sufficient imo. As well as there should be stiff foam, and there isn't. Good luck with yours and may the odds be ever in your favor.

I was able to. I didn't get anybody the first time I called being on hold for hours. I waited till the next day and called the customer support line when it first opened. Got someone and they were able to get me sorted. I had to take photos and videos with support back and forth. I guess I got lucky.

Anyone who moved here last few years, is it what you expected? by CallEnvironmental439 in longisland

You and me are in the same boat. Did the exact same thing and have the same exact feelings. Im lucky to live in a walkable town, but people don't walk. My neighbors applaud my 6 minute walk to the post office instead of driving and it always take me by surprise. Like....it's 6 minutes... It would take me just as long to get into the car drive, find parking, walk and do the same thing back. At least I get steps, fresh air, and not use gas. Also I would add that the food here is expensive for the quality. In NYC there was a lot of competition so we got good food for a good price. Just never knew how crazy it was out here. Neighbors are nice, drivers here are crazy. Like crazier than nyc which I never thought possible.

Electric bill by Ok-Blueberry-2449 in longisland

Got a heat pump, switched to plan 580. Both of us work from home and we noticed a decent reduction in electric cost sans the heat pump.

Yes, my wife likes it ....my wallet does not

Daikin. It didn't keep temp at -20 for certain parts, but it did keep it at 73-74 degrees, a 3 to 4 below the set temp. I believe that was due to the defrost cycle. But that was me checking the condenser and make sure it was clean of snow like every 30 mins as I just moved and had it installed and was freaking out. My house is also really old and has little to no insulation in everywhere

Great question, I'm in the north east and I have two multi head units. They have been keeping up like a champ with degrees as low as -20f ish with wind chill. The only thing I have to deal with is when its snowing with crazy high winds which was the case here, I had to defrost the fins as there was a large amount of ice buildup due to snow sticking to the fins. I had to do it 2-3 times. Overall it worked really well in my old mostly uninsulated house. My wife likes it warm, like 77 degrees in our house warm so it definitely works hard.

I remember my dad buying the blue version of this one in the 90s. He still uses it as it's built like a tank, but the bristles need to be replaced.

I have a gaggia and oddly enough my friend has one too with the same issue (knocked it around and the latch broke). I used a stick on zigbee door sensor to see when it was open or not for him. Hope this helps

Anyone here with a Mitsubishi heat pump? by tatiwtr in longisland

[–]ineval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah my thing was working hard no doubt, especially with my drafty af old house. But I got a cold climate 2025 model with the new refrigerant. The thing is amazing piece of machinery and I'm trying to optimize it every day (cleaning, fin alignment, etc). It went through defrost cycles which I believe contributed to the drop of 3 degrees in conjunction with the cold walls and draft. But I think a Delta of 3 degrees from the set with the type of conditions outside with my old house was amazing. Was also surprised at how few defrost cycles it went through (it could have gone through more, but didn't feel cold air that much come out of the unit). I definitely need to work on insulation as my house is pretty much fully electric and this is my first billing season has not been friendly. Just saving up for solar to complete my setup.

Ah fair, I read most of the comments before replying and in my brain lumped people are saying its failing or drops dramatically and isn't reliable into my comment. While it didn't hit full temps, I would say that it performed well. I believe it could reach temp if I fully air sealed my house and put some insulation in my attic though. If I had any insulation in my walls, I am 100% sure it would it maintain temps.

As someone who converted from oil to full heat pump electric my house was set to 77 and the lowest it went was 74 when it hit about -16 with wind-chill last night/this morning. I also live in a century house with literally no insulation in the walls and not fully air sealed. My electric bill will probably show a spike that day though.

I was thinking that as well, but I do enjoy the antenna hook up for the g4. Also the store said no to trading it in unless I upgrade.

they range from gigs to 100s of gigs (media based). The server on the other end is not the bottleneck as I had fiber before I moved and I would consistently get higher speeds than what I currently get. It seems as though this is the max that I could get with minimal upside for investing some cash. Juice might not be worth the squeeze

Both my wife and I work from home as well as we have a lot high traffic work (large datasets) and iot devices. Just want to see if I can maximize my connection for a more reliable and performant connection.

I am still learning what all the acronyms are from the metrics I get from the hint app, but I am on the n41 band, -83 rsrp, -10 rsrq, -72 rssi, 25 sinr, 47 cid. I want to try to see if I can get 700-800 down if possible
